“So well said! Honestly, many people do stupid things & either don't get caught or stay 'safe'. So easy to judge others! Thank you for your awesome words! God Bless!”

“You are very welcome.
I guess my biggest complaint with people is they want to hold on to another person's mistake. They can't or won't forgive them. It's not up to us to judge them - if you are a person of faith - and we don't forgive enough, IMO.
I'm as guilty as the next person because I hold onto grudges, too. But it doesn't make me a better person. It lessens my soul. It makes me a "smaller" person. We humans have the capacity to be so much more than what we settle for.
Each day is a new beginning. Today I 'choose' to be kind. Stories like this article are reminders for us to remember that.
“I'm sure either way would be incredibly hard. I am a Jail Chaplain & I routinely see people who truly want to change their lives...this is a fine example of that. There is also the other side of the coin though...those who 'appear' to want to change, only to jump back into their previous way of life. It's always amazing to see sincere rehabilitation & change...”
“I think the soldier who called probably thought she was doing Mrs. Brown a favor. Obviously, she would have preferred to be told by officials. I have to agree with Shelbia...I think I would prefer to be told by someone who knew & cared about him. A lot of times during a death, it helps to focus on something other than the tragedy at hand...I feel sorry for her & her family either way. Protocol is protocal, so she does have a legitimate complaint...”
“I am not here to get into a biblical pow wow with anyone. The Old Testament is full of many harsh things, however, if you continue to read in it's entirety, the New Testament offers a whole new way of life. Through Christ things are much different...we must live a life of love & grace...certainly none of that is found within these individuals!”

“Ah but the new testament was edited from the old by man. Where's the proof that God orgerd the edit?”

“and he is one corner of your trinity. he is not the only diety worship in your faith. there are three. to say other wise is to deny the orgins and foundation of your faith. stand up for it all or throw it all out.”
“Amen! There is a difference between a Christ follower & a religious nut! Using religious authority or whatever these sickos think they did is assanine!! Any person - religious, atheist, agnostic, whatever, who does something like this deserves to pay dearly!!”
“There are absolutely no biblical reasons for these people's actions. These are sick psychopaths hiding behind a false veil of religion. True Christ followers would never find justification for these actions...”

“Another one of the selective "believers". There are commands from GOD in the bible that make these actions pale. If you are down for some you got to be down for it all.”
“I am a chaplain at a local jail in S. TX & deal w/addicted people all the time. My heart aches for these individuals who are usually looking for 'something'. One thing I can say about this is, no your son did NOT deserve to die! These tragedies occur all the time! I don't understand why our system thinks putting addicts into prison with other addicts, murderers, thieves, molesters, etc. is in any way helpful? All this does is make them angrier, more depressed & wanting to use more! We must take the time to find the root issue that causes the addiction & work at healing that. That being said, the addict has to be ready & willing! You can spend every penny you own, waste every second of your time & cry every tear in your head but if the person is not committed to changing, it will all be in vain. This problem is heart wrenching! Yes, we usually see these addicts at their worst. Strung out, dirty, teeth falling out & think - ick! They deserve it, living like animals! But I can tell you that at some point that 'animal' was just like you or me! They just didn't have the proper tools, correct upbringing or simply made one too many bad choices & bam! This had become their life. My thoughts & prayers do go out to this mother & I'm so terribly sorry that your son was not able to make it to the”
“I kept my daughter home an extra year as well. While some parents thought I was crazy, I occasionally would meet someone who understood. I am extremely happy with my decision! As the writer here expressed - childhood is such a small part of our lives! Let's love & nurture them as long as we can. We all have to let go eventually...obviously waaay before their wedding day (to the commenter above) LoL!”

“Most children attend pre-school by the time they are 3 & even earlier due to both parents working full time. For those that are stay at home moms I bet is is harder to let go. I”
