Sarah Palin: Roe v. Wade Anniversary Highlights Obama 'Hypocrisy'

“Negotiations do not meet good compromises when the proposals are laid out when folks are not at the bargaining table. This type of proposal should not leave the bargaining table. That said, it's a bad proposal with no increases in revenues. The democrats are failing miserably on this. I agree with cuts, but the package should be comprehensive, and it is not.”

'Super Congress': Debt Ceiling Negotiators Aim To Create New Legislative Body

Commented Jul 24, 2011 at 00:22:31 in Politics

“"Negotiators are currently considering cutting the mortgage deduction and tax credits for retirement savings". My god, so there goes major financial incentives for owning a home and for putting money away in tax sheltered retirement programs such as the Roth IRA. And that PRIMARILY hurts the middle class. And both parties are interested in a Committee being able to shred the lifeblood of the middle class in future debt increase talks. Congress, stand up for your beliefs with your votes. We need to see how you vote so we can hold you accountable for your actions (that goes for whatever your beliefs are). Don't leave it to a committee so you can protect your seat.”

“At what point will sick, twisted people like this guy realize that actions like this have the EXACT OPPOSITE effect that is desired? People like Erik Kursetgjerde, the 18 year old that survived the incident, will only be more hardened and will more likely devote their lives to securing the freedoms and liberal democracies that we treasure. All it does is bring the entire country of Norway together. All it does is damage the conservative parties in Norway and strengthen the Labor Parties. Sorry Breivik... battle won, war lost...”

“If a repub gets in, it will likely mean a bigger majority in the house and majority in the senate. It's probable that if someone votes repub president, they will vote repub on everything else. Those majorities could spell significant setbacks on social issues like gay marriage, abortion, and the like, while also triggering significant cuts to the big social programs, which will likely drive the economy backwards further... maybe we do need four years of garbage to get back to what we need, but it's not going to be pretty.”

Bill Daley: Obama Wants $4 Trillion Debt-Reduction Plan (VIDEO)

Commented Jul 10, 2011 at 13:44:58 in Politics

“I would say if we have reserves, then it is safe to make small, incremental tax cuts to the middle class so that the extra money they take home will get dumped directly into the economy, spurring further growth and development. Problem was we did a humungous tax cut ten years ago, then operated two wars that we didn't pay for, and then passed a medicare prescription plan bill that we didn't pay for, and then had an economic collapse. In a perfect world, we would go back to being a nation where people borrow money from us and not vice versa, and I can see benefits in becoming as deficit neutral as possible. But when we talk about cuts, it's not just "let's cut $100 billion a year here". You're talking about thousand of programs that each cut will drastically affect the lives of an american. Whether or not you agree with the programs, it's something to take into consideration. There's obviously a million things that we could discuss about where to cut, the effects, and our own beliefs, but it won't change much. heh. I just can't believe the republicans have $300 billion a year in cuts on the table, that include the welfare programs they despise, and won't act on it because $100 billion a year in revenue generation on closing tax holes for the wealthiest americans who are squeezing every ounce of productivity out of their workers before they hire anymore people.”

“Well, the loss in revenues from the 2008 Global Financial Crisis ruining many businesses, coupled with a temporary stimulus package, led to the deficit you mention. With the GDP rising, meaning business revenues are increasing, and the stimulus package getting used up, you will naturally see the deficits fall back to a little over where they were before. That $400 billion is a humungous number... but what of the $200 billion a year that Republicans are saying they are willing to accept. That is half of what Obama is proposing. How are they doing their job in this argument?”

ConsevativeUSA on Jul 10, 2011 at 11:28:46

“I would totally agree because no one is working Revenues are down probably half a trillion. But still I believe a county especially a country has powerful as our should not be running in debt. We should have reserves of money just incase we have to go to war or pay for a natural disaster. We need to cut drastically and we need to revamp or welfare and entilements. We have to get rid of fraud and abuse which is apparently over $500 billion.”

They are so consumed with the idolatry of bible worship that they wouldn't know inspiration from God telling them to accept equality if it bit them on the hiney. They can't think for themselves b/c they follow a book of archaic writings that does their thinking for them. They have made the book God, and cannot be open to any truths independent of it.”

Same game they are playing with Jon Huntsman. It's humorous and effective when it comes to how it affects primary voters.”

abmabardy on May 16, 2011 at 23:13:27

“Except that it was the mayor and the legislature who did all the work on the plan. Romney just took credit for it, ...... until he stuck his finger up into the wind and decided he actually didn't want the credit.

This guy is a fraud. He has no core values (for choice, then against it, for gay marriage, then against it, for the war in Iraq - but only if his sons don't have to go, etc.) Oh, and the whole business leader thing? Nothing there either. He ran on jobs, but did not bring one single job here to MA, too busy positioning himself for a presidential run.

I guess it's better than nothing though. I just see OPEC lowering their production in kind and speculators keeping the price up anyway.”
