Ronald Westbrook, Alzheimer's Sufferer, Fatally Shot Knocking On The Wrong Door

Commented Dec 9, 2013 at 16:21:44 in Crime

“I believe in the second amendment, yet I am for changing some of the current laws. One thing that should be required is proof of a safety course that also covers the laws in the area the owner will reside. According to the story this home owner went outside... I'm all for being able to defend yourself and family from harm, but until that door is breached by an intruder it's hard to declare imminent threat while behind a locked door! Leading back to he left the security of his home to engage the person outside, at this point I would say you "welcomed" that danger, in this case it wasn't even danger, so immunity from prosecution should not be there. Call 911 and stay inside, if someone ENTERS your home then and only then drop them!”

“I'm a supporter of the second amendment, but these stories of shooting people on front porches/knocking on wrong doors is just crazy! It is one thing to defend yourself and family, it is another to go outside and then say you felt threatened. Call the police, you've already prepaid that service with taxes, if the person on the porch breaches the front door then use the force you feel is needed. In this case they would have responded, probably got that elderly man home and the homeowner wouldn't have that death on his hands.”

“Did you forget about option C, raise taxes ?? Option A affects a small portion of people as well as changing the rules in mid stream for them. Option C includes a much larger group to share the pain. It's really not like Republicans to present only part of the issue,( which comports with their "rear-end tightly puckered" view of the world).....I'm kidding of course, it's exactly like Republicans.”

“Why don't we just allow the Koch brothers to sue every single citizen in the entire United States for "emotional pain and suffering" because every time we hear something bad about these two guys, we probably repeat it. How would you like it if a million people said bad things about you? I think about 300 trillion woudl be about the right about. We would each have to pay these two brothers $10 million a piece and if we cannot do it, too bad ... 48% interest. And furthermore, let us get rid of bankruptcy. If you cannot pay, then you will have to donate your body to science ... and donate it while you are still alive.”

Catholic Church Has Been 'Outmarketed' On Gay Marriage, Says New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan

Commented Nov 30, 2013 at 19:35:08 in Religion

“Did the church really think they were going to win that one??? Religion is fading away and there is a gay reference in every movie, every tv show and at least three to forty stories a day in the news... It was game, set, match years ago! Which is perfectly fine because there is separation between church and state, the only real argument I hear against gay marriage/rights is founded in religion so please keep that as a personal view. Amazing how many people wave the flag and love the constitution than want to limit the rights of other based on things that have zero effect on them. What people do in their own lives that doesn't effect others should never be illegal... Land of the free... Right?”

I think we should have better mental Heath care, also once someone is diagnosed with on and stops taking their meds they should NOT be able to use it at trail!!! After all someone with HIV who doesn't disclose that to partners can face criminal charges, it a choice and we all need to be held personally responsible for the choices we make.”

“Is this truly news worthy? I'm honestly just wondering. Firearms are a legal product that purchasers have to go through a federal background check to purchase from these stores! How many liquor stores will put booze on sale that will get sold to underage kids that will wrap themselves around a tree or another car? We don't live in a perfect world. The VAST majority of gun owners are responsible people that either hunt or just enjoy shooting sports as a hobby. So basically this story is just hey a perfectly legal product is being put on sale like everything else.... But hey we can really get the antigun people worked into a frenzy!”
