How My $1,500 is Going to Rescue the American Economy

Commented Feb 14, 2008 at 21:07:01 in Business

“Annabelle; Finally someone who gets it, the only way to get out of this mess is to manufacture in this country and purchase those goods made here. Free trade is protectionism and a complete and utter failure! It protects multinational corporations against one hundrid fifty million working Americans and our country is paying the price for this almost thirty years of incompetence and greed...”

Commented Feb 13, 2008 at 13:57:42 in Politics

“How is making Americans work for
Chinese wages gaining a competitive edge? All that does is make us a third world country. One hundrid fifty million working poor, if that's your idea of America, please, please consider moving to China, we can't literally afford your kind of vision for America...”

Edwards Endorsement For Obama: Speculation Grows

Commented Feb 12, 2008 at 13:03:20 in Politics

“Political opportunist? HHHMMMM OOOKKKKKK....
Well if Edwards was such an evil opportunist wouldn't he have been accepting tons of cash from greedy corporations? BTW where was Obama and Hillary last summer when Edwards was in New Orleans literally scooping up mold and debris from poor peoples homes? How dare he help poor people! I'm sure he could have found an easier way to be corrupt rather than exposing himself to toxic mold and disease on his summer tour....”

Why did Edwards wait until 2007 to scoop mud?

Answer: political opportunist trying for a photo-op.”

To Republicans: Conservatism Has Failed. Deal With It

Commented Feb 9, 2008 at 16:26:10 in Business

“Well said Hale; There is one glaring omission from your post, that is this right wing lie that we do not have to make anything to be a sucessful and prosperous country. You can create and rely on low wage service jobs and everything will work out just fine. Republicans purposely don't want manufacturing in this country because this creats a middle class and for the most part, they vote Democrat. Poor people don't vote because they are to busy working three jobs for $7.00 an hour to make ends meet. Republicans know the price of everything (staying in power) and the value of nothing. Sadly Americans still buy into this lie and line up to buy goods make overseas, they are helping to keep Republicans in power....”

“We were actually very good friends with Japan before World War II, even when they were messing up China. The only thing that motivated us to fight Japan was them attacking us.

If we were such good friends, then why did they attack us, as you say?

Sorry, but your view of the history leading up to WW II is a bit simplistic.”

A Special Comment About the Markets and Economy

Commented Jan 18, 2008 at 20:38:42 in Politics

“Hale; Something that analysts never talk about is that we no longer have a demand side economy(Americans with a good paying job to purchase goods) we now have a supply side economy, low interest rates but Americans have no savings and now have to borrow and go deeper in debt to purchase goods. Americans are in debt up to their eyeballs. Since we do not make anything we consume thanks to the right wing Fascists in power, all money used to purchase goods now goes overseas. It's a lose, lose situation. The canary in the coal mine is Las Vegas, keep an eye on that town for further confirmation that America is in real trouble...”

2008 Begins With An Economic Whimper

Commented Jan 12, 2008 at 21:33:25 in Business

“All excellent points but when as a country you do not make anything you consume the only outcome will be ridicule and third world status. So lets say we have some moderate improvement in "09", well Americans will continue to buy from overseas and send their money overseas and put very few people at home to work. The only way America has any chance is to let goods from China and Japan literally rot on the shelf, tell your retailer you will not buy his goods from China and Japan.
Yeah I know, a snowball has a better chance of survival in hell than americans doing anything good for their own country...”

The Real Winner after Iowa and New Hampshire: Economic Issues

Commented Jan 10, 2008 at 23:33:13 in Politics

“Finally someone talking about retaining and increasing manufacturing in this country. What most of the so called business pundits don't understand is that a service economy is the least efficient way to generate wealth and increase employment. When you actually make a product the domino effect in increased revenue and additional employment to other local business is increased exponentially, thus increasing state and local tax revenues for schools and badly needed infrastructure. Why do you think China is growing so rapidly, they actually make products and they are growing and getting wealthy on our money!!! America aren't you getting tired of watching your country go bankrupt and being the laughing stock of the world?. The Ronald Reagan supply side, service based economy is a complete failure!!! Wake up...”

Why I'm Supporting Barack Obama

If you would read the letters published in the New York Times between Hillary and her male collage friend, he kept all of them. Published I believe to hurt Hillary. However read them and you see a very genuine individual with a deep commitment to politic for the good.

“FDR didn't campaign on the New Deal. He ran on a vague "turn the page" message that appealed to voters sick of the corruption and mismanagement of the Hoover administration. The big changes came after he was elected.

You can't campaign like Kucinich and win an election. You campaign like Obama and then push toward Kucinich in office.”

DontSpin on Jan 10, 2008 at 21:08:06

“All BS. Obama passed one of the most aggressive ethics reform over the past 50 years. The reason those democratic "blue dogs" are endorsing Obama is to make the case that he DOES have the experience necessary to lead the country to make the changes that are necessary. I am so sick of you cynics who stand against everything and for nothing. I'm not listening to you people anymore.

I'm supporting Barack Obama all the way.”
