“The proof will be in the pudding. It will be shown in two ways I think. If transgendered fighters, male to female, dominate then red flags will be raised and/or if a transgendered fighter, female to male, is competitive then those same flags may be lowered. We will see. Hopefully no one gets hurt. I can see lawsuits aplenty if they do. ”
“So what is the standard? How long do hormones have to be taken? Does it really have to be cut off? Can't it just be taped up for a while? I am not making light of this. But there are questions as to how fair this is to the other ladies.”

“iirc the MMA people follow the same guidelines as the Olympics im sure they are easy enough to google.”
“While her service is admirable and her right to do whatever she wishes with her body is absolute (unless it involves selling a kidney or the like) I must ask where does it end? While understanding the feeling of being in the wrong body must be impossible for those that do not feel that way one wonders if cutting off a body part and rearranging whats left really makes one whatever they are striving to be. I leave you with this question. How deeply do I need to tan in order to be African-American?”

“I think you miss the point. "While understanding the feeling of being in the wrong body must be impossible for those that do not feel that way one wonders if cutting off a body part and rearranging whats left really makes one whatever they are striving to be".
The answer is YES. You see, Kristin is and has always been a female inside and has just now started to bring her body into conformity with her identity. I realize that this is a concept that most people find nearly impossible to understand and many will will never accept regardless of how much scientific proof is provided. Your question about how deep you need to tan in order to be Afro-American isn't even remotely relevent. Transsexualism is just like race...nobody can ever choose to be what they are, race or transsexual. You either are Afro-American or not, Transsexual or not and cannot ever choose not to be. Transsexualism is a congenital condition affecting of the structure of the Limbic system of the brain, your race is determined likewise being that you are born that way. If you wake up one day thinking you are an Afro-American but you were born caucasion then you have a mental condition and no tan will change that. Therapy will never change a congenital condition like gender dysphoria but will help with a mental condition.
“YOu made a statement, a claim, that people were born this way. TO date there is no proof. There are "experts" that say it must be so but no positive proof. I am just waiting for positive proof. YOu like so many others like to claim people are born this way or that but again no proof. I am not saying it can't possible be so. I am merely saying it has not been proven to date. ”
“Now wait a minute I did that. It is great to be ambidextreous.........”

“I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.”

“Even if what you're saying is true, you just admitted you still use your original hand. It'd be like going to gay conversion therapy and becoming bisexual, not straight. You're still not cured of your original-handed tendencies.”

“That's something else, and anyone can get there with shots... :)”
“There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation.
“Do you mean why is it being taught at all? If so I don't think it should be. That is up to the family.
But I do remember back in the day in health class a section on human sexuality involving marriage & family etc........ .”
“When same sex marriage does become a reality will you leave others to their lives? In other words will you allow others to continue teaching whatever they may believe about it to their children? Or will schools be required to teach same sex marriage as a normal alternative lifestyle or choice (or whatever the proper terminology is)?”
“Unfortunately isn't this sort of thing true of politics these days. The President is waiting until after being reelected to do more. And why is that? Because he fears not being reelected. What does that tell you. And no I do not think Romney is any different. Politics suck. Let's get someone who speaks thier mind states thier position and does what he or she says.
Sorry just ranting..........”

“I am able to rise above being incredulous about the way politics work as long as in the end, after reelection when he has a mandate, he will be able to make sure that all American's have the same rights.
It seems this is the only issue he has to play politics with, and being a very thoughtful person I can understand the situation and I'm willing to forgive it.”

“Where you're wrong is in thinking Romney is no different. He just showed that this past week by not standing up to those in his party who openly bashed gay people. You need to understand that Romney's religion, Romney's church in fact, openly fought to pass Proposition 8 in California and then preceded to fight the overturn in court - and STILL is fighting it today.”
carbec on May 6, 2012 at 20:11:29
“Romney would spend millions on ads in swing states to denigrate the President to Independents regarding gay marriage. Patience.”
“And you have chosen to follow the pro-gay version. To each their own. But there is one thing that can be said with great confidence. In the end what we believe will have no bearing on what is true/right.”

“Being agnostic/nontheistic I have not chosen to follow any version of Christianity. As a student of comparative religion, however, I keep abreast of major shifts in religious belief. A major readjustment in the Judeo-Christian tradition is going on right now with respect to homosexuality. Judaism and Christianity's traditional condemnation of homosexuality as unnatural and disordered/pathological (based on common interpretations/misinterpretations of a few Bible passages) is not being borne out by closer scientific scrutiny. That leaves many traditionally anti-gay faithful with a kind of cognitive dissonance which they are seeking to resolve. Of course, the most important change occurring presently in the industrialized West is the major shift to "spiritual, but not religious" and away from the organized, patriarchal religions altogether.”
“As far as I know he never says to hate homosexuals. Now the Nicolatians are another story.
But he does say: Yet I have a few things against you - some of your number cling to the teaching of Balaam, the man who taught Balak how to entice the children of Israel into eating meat sacrificed to idols and into sexual immorality.
So there is the sexual immorality thing. Of course you can say homosexualism is not sexual immorality.”

“That is not in the Gospels, it is In "Revelation" which was written many decades later by someone who never knew Jesus and made up all kinds of ridiculous nonsense.”
BeninOakland on May 19, 2012 at 11:05:26
“Or you can say that "sexual immorality" is not defined, which it never seems to be, except as "this is what I disapprove of".”
“I think you misunderstood my point. And I am quite sure I didn't write it very well. What I intended to say is that you cannot claim that a person is created when they are born. I believe a person is created at conception. It is a very early form mind you but it is a person, a human at conception, with all the same rights as anyone else. IMHO
No need to ever apologize when expressing your arguments or opinon. Whether we agree or not. And I think in this case we agree.”

And evidently you find great comfort into believing, period, heh”
“I still, respectfully, disagree with you to a degree. Perhaps with regards to performance only. I am quite confident that Male and female sailors perform equally as well. However if you bring behavioral.disciplinary issues into the equation I will give you the arguement. I will never say that the guys didn't a little more motiviation and guidance. But that was part of the adventure.
