“4.5 sigmas is a huge amount of precision (enough for me, but not to physicists)... I understand that some minute particles require a lot of them.
In this video of sixty symbols they try to explain the concept in popular language...

“4.5 sigmas is not really all that much. Not when you consider there are actually literally millions of measurements being made. Statistics tell you some of them will be this far off just by chance... When I was on the L-3 experiment for LEP2 we discovered a dual photon decay not predicted by the standard model. We reached slightly past a 4 sigma confidence when we finally decided to announce it. Over the next year as we collected more data, we saw no more events. Over time, with the full data set it ended up less than a 2 sigma. Imagine though, if we had turned off LEP2 early and not collected that additional data. Other phycists would have been convinced something was really their and spent there time and resources trying to prove it...”

“"Whatever men do is despicable!" that the correct attitude of feminazis!
I feel that is wrong NOT TO ASK a Danish or a southern Swede an opinion about what is the show about: As far I read, it's non-respectful to have their thoughts on the show, without having someone who knows the culture.
I understand a bit of Stockholm Swedish, however it's not enough to understand what's going on.
There is no Danish subtitle either in previous installments :(”

“Hi Hedley
Sorry only the 6th and final show will have english subtitles.
I am sure you totally will change your opnion after this show :-)”

“People aren't aware how serious are his statements: 1-I am a medical doctor and it's worrisome that a colleague state that "embryology is a lie from the pit of hell". Embryology describe the complicated events that occurs between the zygote and the birth. Embryology, anatomy, histology and neuroanatomy belong to the human morphology group. All of them, need to be learned and understood to get a medical doctor degree. If a non-health related politician say so, I don't see any problem... an MD saying that is something serious!

Most laymen associate anatomy with a "medical school". But anatomy without embryology, is the same as saying USA without the 4th of July (of more formally July the 4th), and consequently dong/crap-based medicine!”

Me declaro amigo de los mocos

Commented Oct 14, 2012 at 08:41:58 in Spain

Commented Oct 14, 2012 at 08:28:42 in Spain

Commented Oct 14, 2012 at 08:05:47 in Spain
