“I thank you again for sharing.
So gay love goes beyond Christian tradition of love. It is more than sex drive and human survival that Freud recognized to be basic to human instincts.
Feeling is sub-conscience and therefore beyond written description.
As an outsider, I can only share with you my experience as a chronic depressive person for most of my adult life until I finally came across an anti-depressant drug that is effective. I was on and off the medication three times, just to see if I really need it over period of several years. I observed my feeling as it transitioned before and after the medication kick in. It basically change my feeling with scientific accuracy from suicidal negative to energetic positive. I now continuously taking maintenance dose to insure BETTER qualify of life without interruption.
Someday, a drug to alter the sexual orientation of a person might be invented to confront the gay community. However, a gay individual SHOULD has a FREE choice to retain his gay feeling or otherwise - it should be up to him/her to define what is better INDIVIDUAL quality of life.
As far I am concern, gay marriage is acceptable as long as the gay couple is willing to accept the marriage responsible as accepted by the society for heterosexual couple.
Please response to my statements if you care to enlighten me with more understanding on gay relationship. It is vital for us to communicate non-judgmentally.”
“Thank you for the feedback!! FFed.
I know I am a little strange as I honestly feel that the reason why Christ is like a shepherd is because he could sell or consume the sheep for his own gain.
Anyway, that was my first though when the story was first told in a Sunday school.”

“Holly, I hope you are sincere about your desire to understand same-sex relationships better. Since no one else has offered, a good book (several years old) is "Is It a Choice? Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions About Gay & Lesbian People," by Eric Marcus.”
“Thank you for sharing. FFed.
True gay love involves a very conscious choice to a same sex partner, even with a prior satisfactory relationship with an opposite partner.
It may even be a purer love as our biology is not structured to give more enjoyment out of "same sex" sexual intercourse activities. I would appreciate very much if you could comment on the subject matter.”

“It goes so far beyond sex and into our minds themselves. The harmony, the awareness of each other. At times it feels almost mystical - and i am a very grounded science person. My marriage to a man was an existence and I fear that is what most people have without knowing what they are actually missing. Thus the cravings for romantic books, movies, etc. craving something they have never felt. I have felt it. It is a wonder. And, for me, that feeling can only be had with a woman, not a man. I don't hate men but I am not attracted to them nor desire them. They make great friends, though- when the sexual baggage can be put aside by them and their wives!”
“I may be too analytical to understand love as you understand it, especially the kind of romantic love that is out of the traditional setting. Communication and understanding is key to acceptance. Please disclose more or a book , link that describe the gay kind of love.”
jerryengelbach on Jun 1, 2014 at 22:47:53
“If you mean sex, many heterosexuals practice the same things as gays.
If you mean sexual attraction, just think of your own attraction to the opposite sex and you'll know how gays feel who are attracted to each other.
If you mean the spiritual kind of love, even straights have that kind of love for those of the same sex.
I honestly don't understand why it's a big mystery to you.”
RainbowTeacher on Jun 1, 2014 at 22:43:28
“I can tell you that the love I feel for my partner is so intense, so intimate, so amazing, that I was stunned when it happened. I was married to a man for 25 years and loved him very much - but it wasn't real, deep, shake you to your toes love like I have for my Lady. Had I known what the difference would be, I would have never married a man. I can only hope that str8 people have the kind of love I have now felt.”
SKS920 on Jun 1, 2014 at 22:20:58
“It's just love, dear. No other explaintion is necessary. No book can break it down any more than it can for heterosexual coupes. That being said.... I know the same sex relationships difficult for some. But, At least your heart wasn't full of contempt. You sound innocent enough ... As if you want to understand. I'll give you that. I wish you well !!!”
kimpjones on Jun 1, 2014 at 21:40:56
“The "gay kind of love"? Do you mean the love that has lasted 50 years now? As for traditional setting? Whose traditional setting, yours?”
“I am no gay and don't understand gay behavior. However, with that level of commitment and duration they are a better couple than a lot of traditional marriage couple. I hope they have at least a dog as their child.”
Kelly Glenn on Jun 2, 2014 at 23:26:17
“"Gay behavior"? it's the same as "straight behavior". Go to work, love your significant other, grocery shop, pay bills...sound familiar?”
haconger on Jun 2, 2014 at 10:14:46
“Nice sentiment. Non-judgmental. I would say however, there are plenty of couples that are straight and never have children. But being a dog lover myself, I think everyone should consider having one, or two, or .....”

“There is no "gay behavior."”

“"Gay behavior" is simply human behavior.”

“"I am no gay and don't understand gay behavior."
I propose what you really don't understand is 'love'.”
Nancy Drigotas on Jun 1, 2014 at 21:31:40
“Really Holly - I am no gay. Don't understand gay behavior? I don't think you understand love either.”
RainbowTeacher on Jun 1, 2014 at 19:03:24
“You don't understand love between two people? That is sad for you. How do you know they didn't raise children? My partner and I have 5 sons. Most gay couples do have children- either through birth or adoption.”
Chrysichthys on Jun 1, 2014 at 16:51:10
“Things were sounding good until that last sentence.
Are you really so ignorant that you don't know that gay and lesbian couples can, and do, successfully raise children?”
“The answer of your question lies in the answer to this question.
How can the Democratic American government run by a Democratic minority President can still be dominated by too-big-fail corporations?”
“Human is known to have 20% of Neanderthal DNA. It implies Human and Neanderthal had reproduced. If it were not the fact that Neanderthal is extincted. We might be yelling "human rights" to gather with a Neanderthal”
Skeptic888 on May 30, 2014 at 17:04:36
“OK, so up to 20% of Neanderthal DNA exists within the human genome. Since it's apparently not evenly distributed, are we now going to check each person's DNA to see just how much homo sapiens sapiens they are, and depending on the % of Neanderthal, or other DNA remnants, determine that we're not all created equally? And then what do you propose to do with that information? Because it seems, if we refer back to the original issue, you seem to be taking issue with all of us being equal, whether that's self-evident or not.”
