Tammy Baldwin To Ron Johnson: 'I'm Quite Confident' I Understand The Federal Budget

Tammy Baldwin To Ron Johnson: 'I'm Quite Confident' I Understand The Federal Budget

“That's ok. Hopefully she'll only have to work with him for two more years, then - buh-buye!”

MissRoseNylund on Nov 10, 2012 at 01:30:52

“Unfortunately, Johnson has 4 more years until his term is up. He was elected in 2010 to a 6 year term.”

Drumbeato on Nov 10, 2012 at 01:24:40

“Unfortunately, a Senate term is 6 years, not two, as is Congressional terms. Ron Johnson took office in 2011, which means he will be a Senator until 2017. He doesn't come up for reelection until 2016. Unless, of course, he does something really stupid, & is forced to step down. Considering what I've seen from this guy so far, that is not out of the realm of possibility.”

“Maybe you should check weather reports before going into hysterics. The temp here has been nowhere near freezing so no, no one is freezing. Are people who don't have electricity or have been flooded out who refuse to go to a shelter or go stay with friends cold? Probably. But that is their choice. It sucks. Some people got hit hard. Some people I know did. But there are places for them to go when they finally get tired of being without heat and water and electricity (and I'm happy some of those I know finally made that decision.) It is not like a third world country here. Haiti is a third world country - check out the devistation there. We inNY will get by and recover. We don't need the likes of you posting nonsense and lies about a place you've likely never even been.”

“Bloomberg has nothing to do with hotels kicking people out or generators for the marathon - those are decisions made by PRIVATE BUSINESS. You know, that thing you worship? You obviously don't live here and have no idea what's going on. Fema is here. The National Guard has been diisributing water and mres. People are trying to help each other as best they can. If all you have to offer is sitting on HuffPo posting l1es you need to get out the way and make room for those who actually know what's going on and are trying to improve conditions.”

commonsenseforonce on Nov 3, 2012 at 19:21:00

“Maybe where you are but not in other areas.  Yes, hotels are private businesses but they most certainly were "asked" to have victims leave for marathon visitors. You believe what you want.  There are parts of Staten Island (Clarksville is one) not even checked. BTW you don't have to be nasty.  I happen to be very upset about fellow humans suffering.”

All he cares about is getting re-elected... and you'll still beg for more.”

“There is a huge difference between underage drinking and sexual assault or rape. All these boys are being taught is that they can get away with it. Wanting to test boundaries as a teen - drinking - is normal behavior. Sexual assault is in no way normal behavior or 'just making a bad decision.' And comparing this incudent to consenting sex is also just incredibly indiotic. If you really think they are the same you should seek help.”

Any move to stand up a White History Month would instantly be condemned as "racist" and envoke wide-spread outrage yet public schools dedicate the entire month of Feb to a single race and require mandatory participation and assemlies. Not gonna play that.

Horse Slaughter Ban Lifted: Congress Reinstates Federal Funding

Commented Nov 30, 2011 at 14:19:30 in Green

“For all those saying this is great, that only older or infirm horses would be sent to slaughter - do any of you remember Ferdinand? He earned over 3 million and was still sent to slaughter by the Japanese who bought him, having outgrown his "usefulness" (he was not good at stud). This actually is not uncommon at Japanese breeding farms. For those who claim to love horses - do you really want to see that because the norm here?”

“You've been lucky then. I"ve been in both restaurants and movie theaters where someone brought a baby, and the baby started fussing and then screaming. Now, you'd think the sensible thing to do would be to leave or at least step out until the child settled, but, no. People didn't used to drag babies and toddlers out everywhere they went. Unfortunately today many parents have a sense of entitlement and don't care that they're disturbing everyone else around them.”

ryker88 on Nov 30, 2011 at 14:30:25

“Yes, the other poster has been incredibly lucky! Not too long ago was next to a table that had a small one sitting in a high chair with a metal tray. The kid was screaming, playing the metal tray like a drum with a metal spoon- on and on and on. The parents were oblivious. Then there's the time I've been in a both and a toddler behind me is talking very loudly, banging on the seat, and sometimes hitting me in the head with a toy. Both times the parents did NOTHING! I never allowed my son to do this type of thing when he was little. Some parents teach manners and some absolutely do not!”

“Yes yes, thank you! Maybe I'm an old, but people didn't used to drag their babies everywhere with them. Why does a baby (or toddler) need to go to a restaurant, the movies or a BAR (yes, in my neighborhood, I've seen people bring kids into the bar - hipsters, what are you gonna do). I feel like, you chose to spawn, so stay home or do kids things. I would never set food in, say Chucky Cheese or similar, because those places are specifically designed for kids. Go THERE.”
