Overall Economic Picture Brightening, But Many Job Seekers Still In Economic Haze

Overall Economic Picture Brightening, But Many Job Seekers Still In Economic Haze

“Not the goal of life. The goal is to find a job. It is so sad to see people unemployed wanting to work. I think looking for a job almost becomes a job.

The goal of life: unknown, yet--to me.... I don't think I have enough experience to know what that is.”

“The goal is to never stop looking. Never stop trying, no matter how bleak the future may seem.”

“It's quite difficult to retain enough optimism and hope to keep expending hours and hours of effort repeatedly, only to be turned down repeatedly, without a single interview. And even when you do manage to get an interview, that is in no way a sign that you'll actually get the job. . .because you're likely competing against 10-20 other people who got interviews as well.

So yeah, optimism tends to be scarce in those situations.”

“Julie Taksae

Your advise sounds good but the facts are that there are six job applicants for every one job. In other words there will never be enough jobs so long as the US imports more goods than it exports. The presint trade imbalances with China alone are 300 billion a year which equates to 715,000 US jobs paying the aveage US yearly wage of $42,000 a year.”

“That's the goal of life? To never stop looking? Seriously?”

“poor little girl.”

paddledude on Dec 23, 2011 at 22:59:04

“Poor little girl?? Sounds to me like she was the instigator here. Wonder if she might have lied about her age. These days "little (teen aged) girls" don't look their age and they tend to lie alot too. You almost need to see some ID right off the bat. What was she doing in the closet? What a big mess. Parents didn't even know about this? Geesshhh. And before any of you spout off with your BS, I like girls in their 30's to 40's. Don't like raising someone elses kids. The idiots shot at the mouse with a 9 mm? They might as well lobbed a gernade at it. Notice the key word here...idiots.”

“Yeah, she must be the victim of bad parents, Teen-Nick and the Disney Channel. She'd be just about "legal" in Canada, though.”
