“"I still don't see where it prohibits putting the cats in there. So I can only assume that its OK. But I'm not sure whether to use "gentle cycle" or just "rinse". I'm pretty sure that "heavy duty" might be a bit much tho."

“My Dad was a S. Baptist minister back in the days when it was a mainstream protestant denomination. Not even remotely fundamentalist. In the larger churches it tended to somewhat formal and aloof. it was difficult to tell Baptists, Methodists and Presbyterians apart. I forget the timelines now but the very conservative Texas Baptists got control of the national leadership. After that it began on it's fundamentalist, charismatic transition. I haven't been a Baptist in 30 years. Actually, I pretty much dismissed organized religions altogether. But that is what happened to the Baptists, unfortunately.”
“Growing up on the beach, and being a fair photographer also, and at the risk of offending, I'm guessing we're looking at some really fancy lab work.
Nevertheless, it's still a very interesting study in form in motion.”

“Excellent and articulate argument. But you have to acknowledge that John has been a bit unfocused in his role of SoS. He has not presented the strong image that I had hoped he was capable of. You know that we have become a shallow community, but diplomacy can never appear to be so.”

That job seems like it is much harder now than it has ever been. I suspect that technology and media are providing people with information through a greater array of filters. People are also becoming fluent in crafting their own unique perspectives that may or may not be relevant to the diplomacy or situation at hand.
Perhaps we are on the cusp of a fresh mode of diplomacy.Could he be the last of the old, or the beginning of a new thing?”
“What do you mean "for nothing"? Cheney and his industrial - war complex made more money than they ever could have just working inside the beltway.
(sonofagun. I do believe I had a Cheney moment there). And I'm not likely to live long enough to appreciate how history treats that bunch”
“The naivete of some posters who presumably have only recently discovered that governments spy on each other and monitor certain activities whether inside or outside our borders, is amazing. And yes, some are citizens too. It's a deadly game being played around the world. You don't play better, you lose. If your hands are clean, you don't need to worry tho.”

“THANK YOU!!!!! Sheesh. This stuff has been going on since the days of J Edgar Hoover. And probably before that. Amazed that people were shocked by this info. Its like someone saying WHAT?!! Our gov't is corrupt too?!! No way!!”
“You are so right, John. I can't add anything to what you have said. When will we realize that we are squandering one of the most vital and precious resources of our nation? The young men and women that could become leaders of tomorrow. These political wars and munitions industries wars must stop. I wore the uniform for 10 years. And I was fortunate. We simply cannot afford to continue as in the past. And Sgt. Mills has got more guts than both houses of Congress combined. I salute you Sarge, and your many brothers and sisters.”

“Our country has been squandering are greatest assets, our human assets. What kind of men are we electing as leaders who would jeapordise the lives of our youth for no justifiable reason. It is perverted, shameful, and should be deemed criminal.”
“Now that's not cuteness. It's just pure sarcasm. I hardly think that house cat qualifies as a predator. and I'd feel about like I feel when one of the ranch cats goes missing. We've had a bobcat this year, but the big dog keeps the coyotes out now. We also have a pride of 4 semi feral cats that are amazing to watch hunt. The are highly organized, with assigned roles. A spotter up high, 2 trackers and a catcher. And your fragile ecosystem looks pretty solid to me. See? Different annoying obsessions can co-exist.”
Populuxe1 on May 25, 2014 at 06:32:05
“Fair enough, but I assure you pet cats still like to hunt.”
“Andrew, do you actually know anything about animals? That barren, rocky landscape won't feel a thing from this little kitty's visit.”
Populuxe1 on May 24, 2014 at 22:21:21
“While they might not appeal as much to your annoying obsession with cuteness, that ecology is actually home to a number of birds, large arthropods, small reptiles, and small mammals - cats love that sort of thing. I also wonder how you would feel if the little kitty ended up a coyote or wildcat snack?”
