“Confidence is sexy. That is my biggest takeaway from these pictures. Like a high fashion runway show, the garments are not meant for the women-on-the-street or to be worn as practical beachwear. As for showing off one's scars? That is a highly personal choice. But just as modesty levels vary from woman to woman when they have two breasts, so too does the urge to show or inclination to cover in women who have undergone this surgery.”
“Gee, I don't know, perhaps you can call up your friend Ronald Reagan and ask him why he closed the mental health facilities?
Oh darn, there are those facts again...”
jstevensjr on May 28, 2014 at 11:41:54
“Your facts are incorrect. It was not Ronald Reagan who was responsible for closing all the mental health facilities. In truth, most were closed by state governments as cost saving measures in the face of liberal criticism of "unjust incarceration of the mentally ill." The argument, if you were around then, was that the mentally ill would be better served on an outpatient basis. Many of the mentally ill refuse to take the medications prescribed for them, and I do not entirely blame them.
I am not talking about warehousing the mentally ill in "insane asylums," as we once did. I am talking about identifying those who may be dangerous to themselves and other, then giving them temporary mental health assistance to get past a crisis point.”

“We just came home from a 4 month vacation in Kauai. We'll go back next winter again but are looking towards living there permanently. We're retired so job hunting doesn't need to happen for us. Simple life, that's all. Don't need big house, big condo, or fancy. We're not looking to recreate mainland trappings. Nope. We just want to go and sit on Anini Beach for hours at a time. Best place on earth.”

“These people who want to be able to force a woman to stay pregnant against their will - what would they say if we put forth laws that allowed us to force them to have abortions against theirs?”

“No offense, as i understand what you are saying, but there is no equivalence here. They would not understand the connection. They believe they are saving lives, they believe they are punishing women for sinful choices. They are unable to understand that there are people who actually do not respond to events they way they do. And ultimately they do not care about the lives of the women who seek abortions or about the lives of the children they will force those women to bear against their will.”

“What a nice Ad Hominem. Don't like what he said about her personal responsibility to her marriage, so attack him for "lack of experience," or his lack of fans Doesn't change the fact that what he said is really true.
Having been with the same woman for 15 years, it takes communication, and being honest with your partner about what you are feeling, and listening to them, recognizing when there is a problem, and getting help if necessary.
If this woman was unwilling to talk with her husband about what she needed, or what she was feeling sexually, then it is pretty obvious that she likely couldn't communicate in other areas as well. And yes, many marriages have ended because of lack of physical connection. And we also still live in a culture that tends to shy away from talking about our physical connection, because we have this Puritan View about sex, that it is something we should abstain from, save for marriage, and never talk about.
The fact is, this woman had no desire to try and salvage her marriage, no desire to even talk to a man she claimed to love enough to marry, makes one wonder if she truly ever did at all.”

“One way to see his reply, Linda, is to realize that it is from a place of pain and longing.
When men respond like that to an article like this they are doing it with a twisted gut of desire for more in their relationship. They don't know how to do better. They feel betrayed by ANY woman who can leave a relationship and quickly have better sex.
Your reaction to his reaction is exactly why passion gets buried in relationships. SOMEBODY needs to take a higher road toward a higher purpose. As Rachael Jayne Groover says, feminine and powerful women can learn this just as well as any man.”
“More directly it's because of specific policy choices that have been made over the years. Big Business and the supperrich have been writing their own favorable policy through the likes of instututions such as ALEC for years. MANY in congress (not all!) are responding only to those who are lining the campaign donation coffers.”

“I actually think it's perfect for my generation (that would be Millennials), who, when faced with a medical decision or diagnosis, immediately turn to the internet for the experiences of others. This woman saw information was missing which allowed myths to be perpetuated and acted against that. It's helpful, whether you think so or not.”

Fixed that for you. This video is about destigmatizing abortion. Many women have faced death threats for making the wise decision to have an abortion. You might be pro choice but your opinion isn't helping anyone who want to keep the choice alive.”
