“Continue to support SMA research, donate today at www.emersonshope.org. Every dollar raised will be going to Sophia's Cure Foundation in honor of Avery. There is currently a private donor who will be matching the first $500,000 in donations received in honor of Avery. Make a difference, help us cure SMA!”

Avery's Bucket List: Parents' Website For Infant With Spinal Muscular Atrophy Goes Viral [UPDATED]

“As a fellow SMA parent, I understand they want to give their child everything they can and are doing a great job raising awareness of SMA. I however wish all this attention could be put toward the positive things going on with research. There is a program near FDA approval that could provide a treatment and potential cure for young babies diagnosed with SMA, and yet that's getting little to no attention. If just a fraction of the people that have like or followed Avery's story would donate $50, we could completely fund the first phase of a human clinical trial. If that was the message being spread over the world wide media, we'd have the funds necessary to cure this disease, so future diagnosed children might never need to worry about the possibility of their child dying early. I wish Avery and her family all the best, I just wish the message being spread wasn't about doom and gloom, but more about how close we are to curing this disease. To read more about how to help cure this disease, please go to www.emersonshope.org or follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/emersonshope THERE WILL BE A CURE!”

“Great article ... and as a special needs FATHER ... I would concur that this manifesto can certainly apply to dads as well.
