“And all of these is valid assuming that everyone where you go speaks ENGLISH to you. Could not get more rubbish than that, and would suggest STAY IN YOUR ENGLISH world.”

“I have travelled places where I had to get by on what I could learn of the local language. I speak some Spanish now and some Bahasa Indonesia (works ok in Malaysia too but really, it's more socially acceptable for me to speak English in Malaysia, because English is the language of strangers there, and so it is sort of an invasion of space for me to speak Bahasa there).
I think it is all valid as long as you can communicate with people. If you are learning to speak Spanish, for example, practicing with taxi drivers is a really good idea and you will learn all kinds of things (like that taxi drivers make more than doctors in Quito). But #6 is especially valid everywhere. People do things differently. They balance concerns differently, and their cultures work too. If we just see the differences as bad we fail to see the good.”

“I am tetralingual and the rest of my family is pentalingual. Even though I don't live in the US, I am all for a unilingual US (english that is). Imagine if the US were bilingual (English and Spanish), we hispanics could never communicate incognito in front of anyone, because the would understand us. All the soap operas would be full of spanish speaking "gringas".....leaving all of Latin American actors and actresses out of a job. Life would simply be HORRIBLE.
However for my family and me, we'd keep our 4-5 languages that we use everyday at home, could not imagine life without it.”
“Dear fashionista, If your wine is too hot, take a cocktail. If you forgot to put the wine to chill, take orange juice. If you don't want to use a real glass for the wine, stick to the US favourite drink: Coke. Please, do us a favour and stick to your "travelling" blogs.”
“This is quite a video, particularly the heart, even for me that have seen pigs killed for Xmas in my country, since I'm about 10 yrs old (36 yrs ago), cannot imagine for city dwellers-supermarketfed-septic people. I know that down the road in France, they make Wild Boar sausages and are fantastic. All things considered, it must have been a brilliant feast, Bon Appétit, tout le monde.”
“Pls, save us your social two cents worth analyses. Violent in Mx linked to social issues, e.g. drugs shipping to US mainly. Do not feel for corridas, but at least Spain does not use torture on human beings such as the US armed forces.”
