Kanye West Sentenced To Anger Management Therapy After Pleading No Contest In Battery Case

Kanye West Sentenced To Anger Management Therapy After Pleading No Contest In Battery Case

Commented Mar 18, 2014 at 09:30:56 in Celebrity

“I don't think that's what she was saying. Violence isn't the answer. Her point was shouldn't there be limitations on how far "the press" (aka TMZ crowd) can insinuate themselves into thse people's lives....sticking cameras in someones un-made-up face in a grocery and declaring it "shocking"' bothering children, phtographing through windows, etc. Do they really get a free pass to be Peepers? Why is this a one way street. Not defending West....but doesn't the provacateur take some responsibility?”

dbw8906 on Mar 18, 2014 at 15:17:48

“You have no reasonable expectation to privacy in public places, the supreme court has established this. Last I checked Mr. West doesn't have a problem with the press when they are reporting on his music/art/clothing projects correct? So the press should only be around when the elite WANT THEM around? Again these people are BREAKING NO LAWS. Can I shoot my neighbor's dog if it annoys me? Are we a nation of laws or "feelings"?

I have no love to for the TMZ crowd but the faked "hate" for the media from the jet set crowd is preposterous. They can't' stand them till they have a new movie/album to sell.”
Angelina Jolie Cancer Surgery: Actress To Have Another Procedure To Prevent Disease

Angelina Jolie Cancer Surgery: Actress To Have Another Procedure To Prevent Disease

Commented Mar 13, 2014 at 09:21:43 in Celebrity

“Since she's not sick, her surgery would be considered "elective" and her insurance wouldn't apply. She would be paying out-of-pocket and I'm sure it's extremely expensive. But Ms. Jolie can afford the surgery and all of the reconstruction that follows. Most people probably couldn't.”

SCPCODER on Mar 15, 2014 at 10:33:58

“She would be considered "high risk" because of her family history and many insurances do cover for this diagnosis. But you are right; she has the money regardless. The article hints it's another breast surgery but I'm willing to bet it's surgery to remove her ovaries, as that is what her mom died from. I'm not a huge Jolie fan, but I wish her well through this medical journey and hope her preventative surgeries are successful and prevent her from suffering cancer. I wish her & her lovely family well.”

Kelly Glenn on Mar 14, 2014 at 21:50:06

“many insurance will cover preventative mastectomies and/or hysterectomies if there is a family history or genetic marker (in her case the BRC1 gene). it's cheaper for them to cover these surgeries than to treat cancer, which someone with that particular marker runs an almost 90% chance of getting, so, while she is opting for the surgery, it's not "elective" like liposuction or a breast enlargement would be (though, most insurance companies will also cover reconstructive breast surgery after mastectomy).”

Morgan378 on Mar 14, 2014 at 06:11:40

“It would be a more than some surgeries. But having something removed - and depending what's meant by "reconstructive" the coding could be done so it wouldn't cost as much as "Breast Augmentation" 19324-25 or even a total "Mastectomy" 19140-240 old codes 2001. Prep for augmentation - is "encoded" into a mastectomy so the CPT with suffixes probably wouldn't apply depending on the surgeon. Anesthesia would be a kicker - but that's up to the person using the gas and taking vitals. Taking something out w/o deep fascial involvement is much cheaper than putting something in/leaving something behind in most cases. Get to know a surgeon - so indeed either way - Ms. Jolie may have only had to make an "in kind" donation to a favorite cause as some of it works out. But, indeed, most would have to pay OOP, but again some insurances might be inclined to cover it if not declared Pre-Ex as your by line indicates. It's gonna be a medical-legal war out there if they ever allow patenting! People WILL die. Corporations WILL cash in.”

Realitycher4u on Mar 13, 2014 at 23:07:47

“Your comment is not correct! If you have this gene and your doctor contacts the insurance company they will pay for this and also the reconstruction that will be required. In the past 10 years ago many insurance companies would have turned you down because they didn't understand the condition or the issue with the cancer connection. In reality the insurance company will be saving a lot of money by doing the surgery now rather than in 5 years when the cost for cancer treatment will be 100 the current cost. I agree that insurance companies are difficult to work with and will try to save a buck any way they can but in this case it will save them money.”

Taumy on Mar 13, 2014 at 22:19:33

“true. and there are some people that are foing to gripe about how she spends her money. I guess they would rather watch her pilfer her life away on drugs and excessive behavior.

People are strange.”

wildzfan on Mar 13, 2014 at 14:33:10

“Actually, if you googled it, you would find that many insurance companies docover preventive surgeries if you have a family history (or in her case the BRCA1 gene). It is much cheaper for them to cover a person's preventative surgery than it would be to cover the treatment of the disease..”

syzygymeckel on Mar 13, 2014 at 14:14:24

“It may not be mandated, but most insurances cover prophylactic mastectomy (and reconstruction) if any one of certain high-risk criteria are met. Having been determined to carry BRCA1, Jolie would meet one of the standard criteria, Almost certainly, prophylactic oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries) will be covered as well, due to her carrying the gene. As someone else said, it's cost effective for the insurance company to do so.”

Dionita on Mar 13, 2014 at 11:02:08

“I hope that in the near future that ALL women will be able to make the same choices that Ms. Jolie has made just because we are that kind of world.”

sjmir on Mar 13, 2014 at 10:35:34

“A lot of insurance companies are no taking a pro active role. Most probably would not pay for the blood test looking for these genes but once presented with the findings I think you would have a good case for review for preventive surgery if the blood work showed that you were high risk.”

jdl51 on Mar 13, 2014 at 10:14:28

“I would be willing to bet her insurance would cover it. Insurance covers preventative measures and if there's a nearly 90% chance of her getting cancer, it would be a heck of a lot cheaper for them to pay for the surgeries than to pay for her cancer treatment.”

“Okay. Here's a suggestion since you want to eliminate birth control from women's wellness packages, single and married women. Since the male is the one doing the "inserting" perhaps he should be made to be 100% responsible for the birth control and all subsequent consequences. After all, it's the man wearing it. Let them buy their own birth control instead of the woman providing it for him. We'll see how quickly they demand birth control insurance benefits.”

“How about making both parties responsible for providing their own forms of birth control? There's a novel idea.”

Supreme Court To Take Up Controversial Birth Control Cases

“As far as a company "footing the bill",it is true they subsidize the policy but for 42 years I had money deducted from my paycheck, cost depending on my choice of policy. Typically you'd have a couple of choices as to an HMO or PPO and those policies also included substantial deductibles and out of pocket maximums so they were not "top of the line" policies even though the company employed 1000's of people. When corporations make an insurance buy those packages include a women's wellness package - which includes things like mammograms, pap smears, colonoscopies after 50, and birth control with a gynecologist prescription - and that can be for a number of things, conditions or birth control. There's a Men's wellness package also and is for things like colonoscopies, yearly physicals and apparently Viagra as prescribed by a physician. These packages are part of a large buy. When companies start cherry picking benefits and make the buy a la carte, so to speak, it's going to be more expensive. And who do you think will absorb those costs? Birth control has been part of insurance policies since the 1970's. It effect MILLIONS of people who use it for family planning and illnesses.”
