“Yes, you makes perfect sense! Everyone KNOWS that heterosexuals ONLY have sex to procreate and produce children, and NEVER just for pleasure! And we all know that the world is suffering from a population decrease, so we need EVERYONE to keep making as many babies as possible! It doesn't matter if no one can take care of them -- just keep making them!”

Courtney Love Is Fine with Guitarist Slurring Gays from Stage

Commented Nov 17, 2011 at 01:24:09 in Gay Voices

“If Courtney Love is a "gay icon" it's only because her sorely-missed husband Kurt Cobain made it clear he didn't want homophobes as part of his fanbase, and loved to mess with people over his perceived sexuality.

And clearly, Courtney couldn't find a Brazilian gay stylist for that show. I mean, did you SEE those cockeyed fake eyelashes she couldn't keep stuck to her face?”

“"So why do gay children hide their homosexuality if not for the realization at some point that they are different, and that they feel naturally and instinctively shameful about this difference?"

It might have something to do with the message that homosexuality is sinful and wrong and unnatural - being drilled in to their brains ad nausem by parents, politicians and "religious" leaders, literally, before they even enter first grade? And then it continues by their classmates. And continues and continues.

The shame is created by society and their peers. It is not innate as you claim.
That shame is learned, as is homophobia.

What you fail to understand, is that when children are homophobic or bully kids who are perceived to be gay, it's not with an understanding of the SEXUALITY part of being gay (at least not before high-school). It is simply: You are different, so you are my target.

Yeah, that might be why these kids feel they must hide their "difference"”

“WRONG!
Every heterosexual on this planet, also lives by their PREFERENCES.
They prefer (and love and bond with) the opposite sex, because it is their NATURE.
As it is every gay person's NATURE to bond and love with the same gender.

To infer that gay people have no "principals" is beyond ridiculous.

PS - The Bible is not the US Constitution”

“Absolutely true, Doug. No amount of "being told" or "influence" changes what attractions EVERY person is feeling innately, before they even know what sex or sexuality is.

I was raised in a 100% heterosexual family (and world) in the 1970's. While I had a poster of Farrah Fawcett on my wall, and thought she was gorgeous - my actual crush was on David Cassidy and Lee Majors!

I dated girls until I was 17, because, well - it was just what you DID back then. At 17, I was dating an incredibly hot (and kind of "easy") girl. We could have been going at it like rabbits. But then I realized: I never got an erection fooling around with her - ever! And trust me - any true heterosexual 17-year guy old would have NO PROBLEM in that area.

I still can't figure out those who simply can not - or will not - understand and accept that our human condition is exactly the same as theirs - just in reverse.

Oh, and to Pappawtom:
My humanity is not a "gay lifestyle" - it is a life. I had no choice in my sexuality.
A lifestyle is the kind of car you buy or your favorite food. Stop using that term.”

“So, Linda - as a heterosexual woman (I presume), you chose to be that way as well?
Because as you say "Sexual preference is that...a preference arrived at by choice"

It astounds me how people with this opinion only think that gay people can somehow
make this choice (which they can not), and straight people are born that way.

But let's follow you belief for a moment, which means that tomorrow, you can and will
be attracted to women sexually, and have a relationship with a woman.
After all, it's a choice - right?

Because by your logic, that's how gay people did it:
They started out heterosexual, then chose the opposite at some point.”

“Syllogizer, did you ever stop to think - for a moment - that perhaps gay people are just as much a part of nature's plan, to control overpopulation? We leave it to the heterosexuals to take care of the procreation, while we take care of so many OTHER important things that are vital to civilization.

Think about it for a second.
Is the world not completely overpopulated as it is?

Also, let's remember: Millions of heterosexuals have LOTS of sex - and do not do it each time solely to procreate. Are THEY "detrimental" to society too? After all, they are going against nature by not producing another baby -- right?”

mvp019a on Oct 13, 2011 at 22:38:26

“Dude those are really weak arguments - you really have no understanding of genetics. (That is not meant as an insult, but your statements demonstrate that it is so.) As for reproduction, it is a numbers game when it comes to heterosexual coitus and fertilization and implantation; take an embryology course and you walk away amazed that any woman ever becomes pregnant!”

“You didn't offend. I was just clarifying.

And, if a person on the blog says certain things they did, or behaviors they had, were signs to THEM, then I think we need to believe it to be true, FOR them. If that makes sense.

Again, every person's experience and memories are their own. And they know their experience as their truth. It doesn't mean it applies to anyone else's experience at all.”

“Cute, but there is a soundly established biological result that is relevant here: no species relying on cloning for reproduction has EVER developed the traits you praise so highly here: it is only sexual reproduction that has the genetic variability required for such progress in evolution.”
