Scott Mcinnis's Tea Party Dilemma: Support Right Wing Initiatives, Or Face Wrath Of Activists

“McInnis is NOT of the tea party crowd. He's the established candidate who's being shoved down our throats by the republican leadership. The true grassroots crowd is supporting his primary opponent, Dan Maes.”

“Have you had Dale's? It's hoppier than Modus Hoperandi by far, and it's certainly my preference.”

DemiCrat replied on Dec 05, 2009 at 14:49:35

“Dale's Pale Ale is not hoppier than Ska's Modus Hoperandi, because DPA is exactly what it claims to be, a pale ale. Modus Hoperandi is an India Pale Ale, thus brewed with increased hop levels which gives it a hoppier taste and, usually, a higher alcohol content. The reason for the creation of the IPA dates back to the 18th century, during British colonization of India, thus the name. Everyone has their own personal preference as to their preferred choice of beer, but in a contest of taste differentiation, the MH is clearly the hoppier beer.

I also thought it was interesting that the two New Belgium beers didn't rank higher considering their popularity. I personally would not have chosen them any higher than they were, just surprised that the folks voting know their beers pretty well. There are a number of other CO canned beers that should be on the list as well though.”

“Or, he could've admitted we're perfectly able to protect our borders and homeland from foreign terrorism, and the Taliban and Al Queda aren't the threat they're being made out to be. The real threat is from the inside: we are draining our treasury on these wars, and if we don't stop our economy will collapse. Then how will we defend ourselves?”

“On the mark. We have the technological capability to protect ourselves without ground forces ANYWHERE in the mideast. We have the ability to reach anyone, anywhere at any time.

Is the world a dangerous place? Yes. It has been for many decades. Terrorism didn't start in 2001, and NOTHING we do in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, or anywhere, is going to stop terrorist acts from taking place. We can police. We can keep a close watch on those we suspect. But terrorism isn't going away, even if we post a million troops in the mideast. Someone somewhere will always have a hard-on for someone else and, technology being what it is...

All that has gone on in Iraq and Afghanistan is about resources and money. Only the feeble-minded will buy into this crap that we must expand our occupation in Afghanistan.”

bilmardre replied on Dec 03, 2009 at 12:37:46

“Yes they need to figure out a way to pay for this, not keep it off the books as has been done (ahem) in the past.

What is really frustrating to me is we, as Americans are supposed to be smart people. Yet we drain our treasury for 7 years putting in a half a$$ effort in Afghanistan and that is OK. When a man comes in and says lets do what we have to do to end this all of a sudden we get our voice??”

“I disagree it will amount to nothing. It probably won't pass, but it's already amounted to educating millions of people about the Federal Reserve and the role it's played in our current economic woes. A couple of years ago, there were many more people who just assumed the Federal Reserve was a federal agency and the dollar had to be backed up with a gold standard. Now they know that's not the case, and they're getting angry, and the Fed's days are numbered no matter what happens with this particular bill.”

This bill is the deja vu! Pelosicare isn't about "health care," or providing people with medicine, it's about increased government interference into and control over our personal lives!”

notb observer replied on Nov 05, 2009 at 22:33:28

“If you bothered to check the various flavors of public health care in other Western countries, you would find that your paranoia regarding "interference and control of our personal lives" is unfounded and probably based on propaganda which is being manufactured by the corporations who don't want the government to stop their very lucrative racket. You first have to make a serious effort to understand that health insurance companies do not provide anything. All they are is an unjustifiably expensive middle man. They don't provide treatment, nor do they provide prevention. The only thing they so is crank up the costs by 30% or more in OVERHEAD. The one thing they do however, is to spend a lot of time, effort and money on trying their best to deny coverage to their subscribers, because they would rather pocket the money than make sure you get the treatment you've paid for.
Go to England, Canada, Germany, France, Holland, etc. and ask the people there if the government "interferes and controls their personal lives". Most of these people think people like you are lunatics and idiots for not wanting to have what other intelligent people have already had for decades.”

TXfemmom replied on Nov 05, 2009 at 22:22:30

“There are some things which have to be done by government, and the health care issue will not be corrected without government intervention. It is in a mess and too many people get rich on it. However, giving up Constitutional rights is not part of the issue in health care. One should be able to take one's share, after everyone, meaning employers, employees, self-employed, and investors pay a tax into the government. Then, those who choose could take their portion and go to a private plan, but pay the difference.

Getting health care costs under control and covering our people so they can change jobs, create jobs, become self-employed and not suffer because of it is a government responsibility in every other industrialized country, and it should be in ours.

Being able to bug the home of anyone, invade their home without a warrant, being able to read the the e-mails of someone who isn't on a web site which is dangerous, is something the GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN.”

Mugzi replied on Nov 05, 2009 at 22:22:22

“So you rather have for profit insurance companies deny care??? So, you won't be applying for Medicare when you turn 65????? That's a govt health care program which is favored by a majority of our seniors!!! It amazes me how many "good Christians" are against healthcare for our fellow Americans...how pitifully sad for you. Public option is a CHOICE. A CHOICE for those without healthcare. Pres Obama has stated it will not add to the debt, much different than gw's Medicare prescription program which gw put on the country credit card.”
