“First, your assumption of "most" is flat out wrong. Secondly, bagging groceries does far less for the economy than generating new technology. Generating new tech generates new jobs, while being able to flip burgers or fill bags is occupying an existing job. They are fundamentally unequal in almost all measures. I would prefer paying their SSI if that meant that gifted kids got the elevated attention to ability that they deserve. We'd be a lot better off as a nation because we wouldn't be wasting the our maximal potential just to realize the most minimal potential.”
“So she gets government assistance to keep kids in a household that can't afford a car? I'm sure that every one of those kids gets the individual care they deserve. What a saint!”
WYHKTai-Tai on Nov 28, 2013 at 04:52:12
“Yes, it sounds pretty dire that this single woman without any car to get around, without enough money to buy a Thanksgiving turkey would be allowed to foster 8 kids. I have always heard the system is very overloaded, maybe this is what it boils down to. If she's a loving person to them, they're still better off than in some juvenile hall.”
Alyssa MacVeigh on Nov 28, 2013 at 02:08:35
“Given our vastly overburdened and overpopulated foster care system, what do you recommend?”
“The great thing about being liberal is that we have realistic views of sex and understand that pornography can be a healthy part of a person's sex life. Now, these things ruin people's careers in the right-wing, but those people are hypocrites anyway and should face social ruin for preaching outdated, and never-followed ideals.”
Unca Allen on Nov 27, 2013 at 17:58:04
“The sad thing about being liberal is that you spout unfounded opinions that all "right wing" people, ( in your lexicon, anyone who isn't a liberal) are hypocrites etc., etc. The fact is, you don't know. You're just blowing smoke because you have no facts to back you.”

“Yet, they pretty much run the joint and have the state's monopoly on violence to back them up.”
“Not only is what you said patently false - as in patents have been assigned to people for proving what you said false - but it displays such a gross lack of understanding of basic observation in this matter that it renders your statement hilarious to anyone with any knowledge of biology. Even the craziest fundies have a hard time arguing easily-observable microevolution. You beat them in aces.”
sowlow9 on Nov 25, 2013 at 16:21:53
“If you have no references to prove me false them you are lying! What you think is not relevant! On observable microevolution you mean variances of the same kind! No matter what the variance is they are still in the same species.! genus Canis, Felidae ect.. lol”
“You are hilarious mickey. Perhaps you do not understand how you are proving that you are programmed, but you are proving it very clearly. It is making my day a lot more fun to see you think that you're thinking is on par with actual reason.”
mickey316 on Nov 25, 2013 at 16:03:43
“Programmed? I am not the one sounding programmed, I offered that we should teach BOTH sides in the schools. You all are offering to hear only one side......your side.....the "right" side, the scientific side.....the only side that matters.....
If I was somehow "programmed" I believe I would be saying that evolution "does not compute". However, I don't believe that has come out of my mouth, but it sure has come out of your mouths regarding creationism. Now who sounds programmed?”
“America is one of the only developed countries who feels that only developmentally-disabled children are special-needs. Gifted children are the ignored special-needs kids. Imagine spending all of your educational resources on those least capable of giving back to society while giving nothing to those capable of giving back the most. That's what we do here, and it makes no sense.”
EisenBolan on Nov 25, 2013 at 16:21:12
“Most High Schools have AP classes and same with jr highs. Also if you can get special needs kids semifuntional it costs us less in the long run. Go to any grocery store and you will see Down Syndrome and other learning disabled filling bags.
This didn't happen a generation ago as much. Would you prefer paying all their SSI and make them totally dependent and nonfunctional?”
HeyNow01 on Nov 25, 2013 at 16:07:41
“As the parent of a child with hearing loss I have to say you come off as pretty ignorant. I had to go to a hearing with our district just to get SPEECH THERAPY......that's right. Many districts are flat out screwing families of kids who can't afford to fight for basic accomodations.
What you deem as someone's ability to "give back" to society is meaningless. You are not qualified to decide any child's future, and marginilizing anyone's kid to suit your ideals is pathetic.
As I was told in our IEP battles "The district isn't required by law to provide the best education only the minimum. That applies for any child in public school....sad but true.”
“Only one side has intelligence and reason - so pretending they are equal is actually damaging our children and our society. If you don't think science and religion are unequal, go to a priest to pray for you next time you are gravely ill, and forgo medicinal (scientific) intervention. Only one of those routes reliably works because only one of those routes is rooted in reason.”
mickey316 on Nov 24, 2013 at 16:29:16
“Oh please, that is YOUR opinion. Do you believe the wind is real? How? You can't see it?
You know what damages our children? People who don't allow, or are afraid of, freedom of thought or freedom of debate. that will not only damage our children, but damage our country as well.
People founded our country based on beliefs that no one could prove, and look where we are now.”
“Please stop taking the flu vaccine, as it is undeniable proof of evolution - and you don't believe in it.
Also, if the elementary schools were more advanced today, you would have complete and correct grammar.”
sowlow9 on Nov 24, 2013 at 16:08:29
“The invention of flu shots was observed, evolutionism has no observation. We love science empirical science that is and what evolutionism is not!”
“Perhaps you haven't read their key text, but it is full of curses. Curses are an integral part of prescientific thought, and explain things like disease, deformation, and infant mortality. Perhaps you haven't read the principle text of the Catholics. Moses placed curses on Egypt, Balaam's whole story is based upon curses. Curses are prevalent in catholic theology and practice.”
lionstar on Nov 24, 2013 at 16:57:33
“Err no, curses are not prevalent in catholic theology or catechism. There may some things in the OT which were translated to catechism but curses are most certainly not.”

“Mosses was a Hebrew Prophet sant by God to warn Pharaoh to release the Isrealite Slaves of Egypt and when Pharaoh did not, God sent Aaron and Moses back to show a miraculous sign of warning.
God later sent the 10 plagues on Pharoah and Egypt. If you want to know about this I suggest reading Exodus or the Quran (7,133–136).
According to the Book of Exodus, all the gods of Egypt will be judged through the tenth and final plague:
"On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn — animals —and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD"

“Vatican unveils "magic box" that utilizes the placebo effect to "heal" people, meanwhile, scientists continue to study actual ways to do real things in real life to heal people with the medicine effect.”
“Also, evolution is a fact. It became fact when people became able to observe and force selections, proving the theory. It has been fact since the beginning of time, and well-understood by intelligent humans since the early 1900s.”
Robert Washington on Nov 6, 2013 at 21:05:09
“It is NOT a fact, it is a theory. And there are many major and unanswered questions about the theory. If you back to Darwin's work and beyond, you will find that much of what we have learned about how certain species have evolved turns out not to be true.
Don't get me wrong. I believe in evolution for the most part. And I am not religious. But ridiculing those who don't accept evolution as fact is basically.....unscientific.”
