Starbucks Launches Crusade To End Government Shutdown

Starbucks Launches Crusade To End Government Shutdown

“The President needs to issue an executive order declaring unconstitutional the law requiring passage of a debt ceiling. The 14th Amendment stipulates that the credit of the United States shall not be questioned. That law (containing the debt ceiling requirement) is thereby unconstitutional, and needs to be ignored.”

“No, the Dems do not need and must not compromise with the Republicans. Any more than any other extortionist should be compromised with. As the President said, what next? Erase all gun laws to raise the debt ceiling? Defund EPA to get the continuing resolution? Do away with the Consumer Protection Bureau for the CR after that? A gimme for every debt ceiling hike or CR ad infinitum? Trade Social Security and Medicare for an actual budget? Maybe start a new war in exchange for a farm bill? This is economic terrorism, terrorism that is costing lives as we speak.”

“Apparently Tremblay is unfamiliar with the medical technique called the epidural, or saddle block. It numbs out everything below the waist. It's what they do when they do knee replacement surgery, for example, where they cut the leg bone off and remove the knee. Perhaps she thinks all those patients wake up screaming. Do you suppose the MDs might have administered such a thing to someone with massive trauma to the lower extremities?”

“Nature's epidural maybe. No one gave him one between the bombing and the hospital that's for sure.”

“robert...and when was this state of the art technique supposed to have been given?? There as the parade went on, or right in the ambulance? ...No one in an ambulance has authority or training or credentials or supplies to do it. It has to be done in the hospital...”

“For one thing, Keo isn't seeing conspiracies around every corner. that's a sign of paranoid schizophrenia. Second, he made n mention of seeking a gun. That's a sign of sanity.”

“I wonder if Australia's aboriginal people will be now surprised to find they are not Australian? I guess American aboriginals (i.e., Native Americans/American Indians/First Nation) aren't Americans. either?”

WORST States For Retirement: Illinois Tops The List, California Second (PHOTOS)

“So you want to employ people as public servants and expect them to work faithfully for 20-40 years and YOU expect to be able to retire comfortably, yourself, but you don't think you should pay into the retirement plans of your employees or even honor the agreement you (via your government) made with them when they came to work? Just because they work in the public interest with little expectation of wealth, you think they should spend their working lives on limited incomes and then retire on only their own savings while their neighbors, working for the private sector, at higher wages for similar jobs, get pension plans, bonuses, and numerous other perks that public servants are required to forgo? You'll get great, top shelf employees with such a policy, won't you? Talk about class warfare!”
