“yes but if you add in cost-of-living ...RTWS workers actually make more. And there is lower unemployment on average in RTWS. .....That's according to the Council for Community and Economic Research and the US Department of Labor”

“I was forced to pay union dues when I was working as a bagger at a grocery store when I was only 16. The union took their money before I even got my share and it was a sizable amount and took me two paychecks before I even got my first money. At 16, I was not even allowed to be a member of the union, so I had no voting power, no rights, yet my money was good enough for them. Also I was already protected by child labor laws and labor laws in the State of Ohio. So in my opinion all they did was steal my money, and every state should be right-to-work! Freedom for workers! I will NEVER join a union or work at a place where I HAVE to be in one again!”

“hope you started a 401K with that first job because when the GOP is done that will be all you'll have. Too bad you won't have a pension like my hubby and me.”

“You must realize that you should thank unions for lunch breaks, 8-hour days, 40-hour weeks, the weekend as we know it, safety on the job, child labor laws, benefits, and more. Would you really like to give up all those things?”

Cliff Fiscal on Dec 10, 2012 at 18:09:46

“"I was already protected by child labor laws and labor laws in the State of Ohio." Without unions for the last 100 years, do you think there would have been child labor laws in the State of Ohio?”

Mooseheadjoe on Dec 10, 2012 at 18:08:50

“Amen sister! Unions $uck the life out of every business. Anyone want proof...lets meet fr coffee and I'll give you hundreds of examples.”

“All the hype about money from corporations "spoiling" the democratic processes is false. At the end of the day Obama won, even though Romney outspent him.”

“As usual Obama shows his ignorance for economic facts....Although the actual wage may be higher in CBS....what that money is worth is not. According to the Council for Community and Economic Research the cost of living index for California in 2009 was 132% of the national average while Texas was 90.2%. This pattern holds true between the right-to-work states in the South and Midwest and the non-right-to-work states in the higher cost regions. Adjusting pay for these regional cost differences results in higher real buying power in most of the right-to-work states.[26][27][28]
The United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics shows unemployment rates for states as of April 2012, seasonally adjusted[29], to average as follows:
CBS average unemployment rate 7.5%
RTW average unemployment rate 6.9%”

The Last Refuge of Scoundrels -- Republicans and Voter Suppression

Commented Nov 6, 2012 at 09:26:07 in Politics

“There is absolutely no voter suppression in Ohio. We have a entire month to vote, in-person, absentee, provisional. I used to live in Virginia where there is no early voting. It's one day and one day only. So the claims that Ohio Board of Elections Chief John Husted was trying to stiffle early voting is just dumb. Oh and if you don't know the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is Election day, please just stay home. It's been that way since the 1840's.”

“Sorry Cacey you're wrong....check your facts...Delta Kappa Epsilon was the fraternity W belonged to at Yale...Delta Tau Delta was founded at Miami U and is well respected and has many chapters in colleges across the Ohio Valley and Upper Midwest. Also I disagree with you about Rand. Under my observations of today's political climate, Rand's and Friedman's ideas and economic ideas are very relevant. Paul has stated in the past he is a Catholic and rejects many ideas from Rand's Objectivism but embraces the idea of a free market, liberty and individual freedom.”
