David Paterson Formally Declares Plans For Reelection

David Paterson Formally Declares Plans For Reelection

“Yay! This is good news.

Also, when a governor get a seat due to his/her predecessor having had left suddenly, he sort of gets to do what he wants, because he has no election promises to fulfill. He has a lot more freedom. Even if he gets reelected, he'll retain this freedom.

It'll be interesting to see what he does in the next 4 years. I'm voting for him.”

“First Amendment, Schmirst amendment.

Many of th enewspapers are big chains now, having been bought out by a handful of big conservative companies. They place stories on Page 1, just to please "corporate."

If something is deemed unfavorable to their readers, or could cost them subscribers, they don't write about it. It's as simple as that.”

“yes - same place Obama is from.
For all we know, Palin and Obama are 9th cousins, just like obama and Brad Pitt are!

Ooooh, what would Palin do if she were related to a person of color?
probably try to wink her way back in time to waaay before 1954 so she could own a slave.

Extreme? Not now that she called Obama a terrorist, and didn't flinch when her supporters yelled "Kill Him" at her rally. She deserves no mercy, and no votes.”

I'd be scared, too, especially with the high level of racism with which that statement was made. If I were a minority driving around late at night with an Obama sticker on my car...I hope this isn't the cop I run into.

Palin May Appear ON "SNL" To Spoof Tina Fey

Commented Oct 6, 2008 at 23:18:24 in Politics

“NOOOO! This will make McCain and Palin's points go UP!

This is the last thing we need. If the voters see Palin with a sense of humor, they will forget about her ignorance and racism. THey'll just think she is an all-around gal. She should not appear on SNL.

And, if she appears, shouldn't Joe Biden be offered the same airtime?
Isn't that a network rule for candidates?”

NTO08 on Oct 7, 2008 at 00:41:53

“You make it clear why the Obamabots are so afraid of Palin, besides making sure she is out of picture for 2012.

No Obamabot will dictate who appears on Saturday Night Live...it's not about what you want or who gets skewered. Keep the fascism to yourselves.”

“No longer is it a rule to offer equal time. The FCC eliminated the Fairness Doctrine a decade ago. How else to explain the rise of Limbaugh and Faux News? Of course, the fair and balanced thing to do would be to offer equal time, but that's just a matter of ethics, not a matter of federal law.”

“If someone said that at an Obama rally, Obama would show is great character, and tell that person he is wrong.

Not McCain. Oohhh, no. He just lets it slide, because to say the dude was wrong, would be too nice on his part. McCain has no character, no values, no morals, no nothing. He is a sick excuse for a human being. I know that sounds nasty, but the more nasty stuff I see from MCain's camp, and now him, i am further disgusted.

McCain NEVER takes the high road. He should have said something, and at least said "No, my opponent is not a terrorist. But I do disagree with him on points X, Y and Z."

far be it form McCain to do the right thing. Ever. We are doomed.”

Neel Kashkari, Former Goldman Sachs Executive, To Head $700 Billion Bailout

Commented Oct 6, 2008 at 19:48:47 in Business

“Because with all the scandals about McCain and others, being hidden away, I thought it would be interesting to note lack of character in people who are rising to the top, before they get there and begin denying it all. He may very well be a financially competent person. But he's a crony of Paulson's and I think someone more neutral should be appointed for this role.

With this amount of power, he may get the contacts and resources to run for office, and everyone will be ga-ga of a younger person who came so far so fast. If he wants to run for office, things he has been witnessed saying are important, because it is an indicator of his thinking and decision-making. I'm not sure if it will impede things at all, but I wanted to put it out there.

I see your point that on the face of it, this seems only mildly related, but if you look at what the future might hold for him, and therefore for us, it has more impact.”

“I actually know this person. This is important, so I'm reposting it.

Kashkari and I have a mutual friend. We were at an event last year. A few of us sat outside that evening, to chat. My Significant Other and I joined him, his wife, and another couple. Oddly, they were at 2 tables, segregated by gender. Their women talked weather. The guys talked politics.

Kashkari starts dogging Hillary Clinton. He said "I'd never vote for her because I don't think women should be president." Verbatim. My SO told me this.

My SO defended women, but Kashkari wouldn't have it. He insisted women should never be leaders. Kashkari's own SO said earlier, that although she had a career, "I basically follow Neel around wherever he goes." Verbatim. She was OK uprooting her job whenever he had the whim to move around. That was an interesting precursor to his misogynist statements later.

Kaskhari then said global warming doesnt' exist. He said wind energy is stupid. And he would look up things on his Blackberry whenever my SO said something, to prove him wrong.

Because he didn't like non GOPs, he later went to our mutual friend and said my SO had talked about being abducted by aliens. Yes, Neel Kashkari said this, in an attempt to attack someone he disagreed with.

This is the person the GOP wants to manage your money. I assume sooner or later, he may run for office. Now THAT would be a scary day.”
