“its very likely we will go back into recession if at all we ever came out. government's in the western world are going to need to go to plan B we are at breaking point here in the UK we need a Marshall plan to help sort things out. either way we cant keep a artificial bubble going for much longer sooner or later its all going to crash I would rather we got it over and done with we should never have bailed out the banks in the first place.”

“No, its not dominating the direction of politics at all, just the coverage. People easily forget that the public have been wrapped up in politics long before the internet came along. Crowds in the street surrounding a politician on a soap box stiff have far more immediate impact.
And the internet hasn't changed the balance - you still have most noise being made by a small group of people plus the usual left and right extremes with the huge majority of people neither reading about or commenting on politics at all. Just like before the internet.
It is changing the way people communicate and who they communicate with, but most of the conversation is "over the fence" gossip - just on a wider scale.”
