“I agree that The New Normal is a silly, stupid show - but I really like 666... If it were glorifying evil, this group may have a point. O'Quinn's character is a BAD GUY and does BAD, EVIL things. Why is this a problem? It shows that evil is not a good thing.”

“I find it loathsome that racism is brought in to a discussion such as this so easily. Why was it not said about black people that disagreed with Bush - "they hate him because he is white"?

It is a red herring that needs to stop. Many of us disagree with Obama on the basis of his politics - let me repeat that - it is based on his politics.

To bring in race, shows the Left's utter incompetance to argue a point with facts.”

“It continues to be loathsome that the Left brings up racism in such an easy manner. If a blacvk person, for example, disagreed with Bush's policies - whay was the reaction not "they hate him because he is white"?

I am sick of this red herring. Those of us who believe that he is harming the country and taking us down the path of ruin, believe this because we disagree with his politics ..... let me state that again .......

WE DISAGREE WITH HIS POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bringing race in, simply shows your lack of a coherent and honest argument.”

“If you notice the number of deleted comments on this thread, you may understand why some people are reacting the way they are. I all my years reading HP I have never seen the number of racist, disgusting statement. If I had to guess over 50 comments where deleted.

If you do want to have a real conversation about the political differences, then you’re welcome to comment. I love a good debate. But please be forewarned, fake facts are called out and backed up fairly fast on HP. If you are quoting Drudge, Fox News or Rush, please go somewhere else.”

“Your 'path to ruin' is thinking wic and birth control financially ruined this nation. Every Republican admin has been an economic boondoggle. The majority of our problems now stem from interest we ran up. Not as Republicans believe, that Obama spent $5 billion on beer and weed. cooperation might fix this, but we'll never know.”

Big Bird And Mister Rogers Are Not Just For Kids: We Need Their Wisdom More Than Ever

Commented Oct 26, 2012 at 12:29:05 in TV

“I am a conservative and LOVE Sesame Street - I also think Mr. Rogers was a national treasure. That being said, I think your article is very misleading. Sesame Street is owned, not by PBS, but a private company. A company that makes millions. Go to any Wal Mart, Target, etc and you will see Sesame Street products all over the toy section. They are self-sustaining and do not need our tax dollars. As for the other shows on PBS - if they are viable, they can be self -supporting as well.”

“Sesame Workshop, the company that owns Sesame Street is not a private company, but a non-profit organization. It licenses the use of their characters to fund for most of Sesame Street's production. The share of government funding it has received over the years has decreased.”

“I think the larger question is .... how in the world are the dead now rising without having been bitten ???”

cdub1991 on Mar 15, 2012 at 01:31:33

“It seems certain the entire human population is effected. I've always had a problem with the idea that this particular zombie pandemic could be just a straightforward infection. First, it seems the world was overrun in four or five weeks. No pandemic spreads that quickly, even with aggressive biters. Quarantine and closed transportation systems would slow it down. Second, disease being airborne doesn't mean it is literally "airborne" and can drift anywhere until it finds a victim. You still have to be in a closed area or around the carrier or source. Consequently, there should be geographic areas free of infection but there aren't (?)

My pet theory? The entire human population had always been carriers of the zombie agent. Perhaps its a virus that is always present, like the common cold virus. The other option is that it might be present in the human genetic code. We carry massive numbers of ancient, inactivated genes. Maybe there was a time before the emergence of human consciousness when our ancestors were all zombie-like. Since other primates don't become zombified, it could have been a step in human evolution and the current zombie plague is a massive throwback.

Anyway, something triggers the latent factor en mass--something that could spread rapidly. An environmental contaminant in the jet streams? A massive solar radiation storm? Global warming or some other global change hits a tipping point and activates the virus/genes?

Or maybe there was just no more room in helllll!”

jpbug on Mar 14, 2012 at 09:44:53

“seems that the living are infected after all? i don't think we've seen any deaths in this series that have not been a result of zombie attacks, correct? I initially thought it would be cool if it was just everyone on the farm, since they had the zombie in one of the wells, maybe in some way their water supply was contaminated. which would explain randall being infected, since he had to drink the water. I guess it's more likely that all of the living are infected since the beginning of the virus. Did the CDC guy ever say how his wife died? I don't think he did...”

JackDeath on Mar 14, 2012 at 08:56:55

“Because all of humanity are carriers of the virus, which lays dormant until something compromises the immune system. Zombie bites or deep scratches that break the skin will likely transfer bacterial blood poisoning from a dead body. That would severely compromise the immune system enough to allow the zombie virus to spread and take over. This extends into death; if someone dies for whatever reason with the brain intact, then, with no immune system to keep it in check, the virus will reanimate the corpse.”
