“agreed. some people even without medical knowledge could turn down your insurance application for a surgery from behind the desk and their bosses profit from it, meanwhile good doctors are struggling to pay for big malpractice insurance premiums.”
“I don't even need this chart to realize that the U.S. health care system is terrible. It is ethically very wrong that the system is built for profit.
I paid about 80 bucks for colonoscopy in Japan. Meanwhile I paid 1300 dollars for the same procedure here in the U.S. I paid NOTHING for ambulance ride in Japan. I paid 1K for the same in the U.S. I am paying three times for health insurance premium (with high deductible) compared to in Japan (without deductible).
I hope ACA will be one step closer to a single payer plan in near future!”

“Is it unethical that the food system is built for profit? How about housing?”

“the worse part about to profit motive here is the people that are profiting the most provide no care. Their only interest in the system is reducing billings.
I could live with it a little better if at least the front line service providers were making most of that money, but they are not.”
