“There was an agency that, weirdly, 15 years after a 3-year statute of limitations had run out, apparently bought a $2,000 debt I thought the credit card had written off more than a decade ago. When I said the statute of limitations had run out, the representative said, "Yeah but that's the state statute of limitations. We're trying to collect under the federal statute." Honestly.”
