“Any person that shows loyalty to party over another's person's life demonstrates they have lost their humanity. The Dems screamed up and down about warrantless wiretaps(which I was against), but it is okay for a Democrat to condone killing a civilian with a drone without due process.
But, seriously. Just ask yourself this: Do you hate the other people that disagree with you so much, you want to kill them just for disagreeing with you?”
“Yea, along with his money-printing schemes and him a decade ago the best way out of the NASDAQ bubble bursting, than we should improve the economy by blowing up the housing bubble..
YEAAAH. THAT WORKED!
So yes, I do question the Swedish Academy. After after they gave President Drones and Arafat the peace prize!”
Robin Red Cap on Feb 1, 2013 at 13:35:54
“I agree with your take on the Peace Prize, and have no clue why Obama was given the award. He hasn't fared in that category much better than GWB in my opinion. However, let's set the record straight, the Peace Prize is awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, NOT the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. which awards all of the others, save the Literature Prize. Yes, the Peace Prize is politicized, but those prizes granted by the Academy are based on real achievements in physical or social science.”
“I am so happy that our government does something right for a change and allows members of the LGB community to openly serve in our military. It is sad so much money has been spent on with chunts within the ranks.”
“The Left in America fights for the unambitious and lazy. Always have in America, and always will. The only reason why i am not a Republican is because they are gay-bashing Xtain freaks more concerned about what happens in someone else's bedroom or what they choose to do with their own bodies.
The winners win and the losers lose. "Ref, he is not being fair!" As for your small business tax credit, its comes out to be MORE taxes. The money has to come from somewhere. So the government goes after the small business for more money because they are not the one that lobby Congress. They are too busy working and try to make ends meet.
Regulations HURT small business. The corporate lobbyists want more regulation so no one follows in their footsteps. Hell forbid if someone invents, manufactures and markets a better product than them. The crybaby corporate types when they fall and get a boo-boo want the refs to give them a bandaid.”

“"The Left in America fights for the unambitious and lazy," I hear this common right wing talking point all the time. It usually comes from the same person who's first in line at the unemployment office. When I make a mistake it's ok- but everyone else is lazy and unambitious. Social programs are intended to provide opportunity for those who seek it. Are there unintended consequences- yes. Most programs are designed to benefit children. They cannot control how poor or wealthy their parents are but should have an opportunity to excel nonetheless.
Winners win and losers lose is one of the biggest fallacies about society. It's never that simple- and the reality is the vast majority of people- even the hard working and intelligent ones- will end up in the same socio-economic status they were born into. Who you know plays as big a factor as what you know, and even the brightest and best make mistakes.
Regulations are there to protect the market, and ensure free and fair competition. Corporate lobbyist want less regulation than anyone. Without regulation the system would fail- it's happened twice before but was rescued by progressives. Well designed regulations benefit everyone. Can you over regulate- absolutely. But businesses will not regulate themselves. That's been a failed concept from the beginning.”
“YES! I have. The Left says one things and does another. Why it is that the left wants more regulation for everyone? Why is it they want to tax the producers, and no, Wall Street does not produce? Why is it that business prefer to leave high tax states and go to places with lower taxes?
As for the Right... Jesus Freaks is better term for them. The Dems ae the plutocrats. If they were not, they would not cram unpopular bills down the taxpayers' throats. Wait. now call me "industry stooge"!”
jimtpat on Dec 29, 2010 at 15:03:42
“OK, you're an industry stooge. Democrats cramming bills...yeah right! Politely asking if we can have a little vaseline doesn't make us the crammers.”

“Ah, the world according to the teabaggers, all lies and insinuations and not a fact or even a shred of thought in sight. You can come here and post nonsense but apparently can't use Google to look up the truth. "hifiguy" is correct, and you offered nothing but a playground "Yes I have!" as an argument.
FYI, the answers to your questions, in order:
1. The left doesn't want more regulation for everyone, only for those that need it. Every society regulates its citizens in the form of laws because without them there's chaos. We need to re-regulate corporations for the same reason.
2. We want to tax the producers because they are seriously under-taxed, no matter what Fox News says. I'm taxed, you're taxed, every working person in this country is taxed, so why not corporations?
3. "Why is it that business prefer to leave high tax states and go to places with lower taxes?" That's easy. It's called greed.
“The worst thing the Left has done has been that they lumped the crooks of Wall Street in the same group with small business owners.”
Jupitersky on Dec 29, 2010 at 16:02:58
“I think by and large the left has not villified small business owners- I can't even recall a situation or reason why they would. Most small business owners are middle class Americans- the same people the Left fights for. If you look back over the past 6 months or so the Dems have actually attempted to pass legislation specifically targeted to benefit small business only to have it defeated by Republicans in the Senate. The health care reform act also provides a lot of tax credits for small businesses that cover or contribute to Health Care insurance.
I'm really trying to understand where you'd get that idea or what facts support it. Think about the economy- or the free market like a football game. The businesses are the players. Regulations are represented by the referrees. If the refs call a game too tightly it's not much fun to watch as nothing can really happen. This would be over regulation. Now what happens if the refs aren't there? You have a game that no longer resembles football. The biggest and the strongest players do whatever they want to the point where no one wants to play anymore. This is Wall Street and big corporations. They want the referees out of their way so they can dominate. The fans want everyone to play by the same rules- those rules benefit small business most as they keep the playing field level. Without regulation small business doesn't have a chance.”
hifiguy on Dec 29, 2010 at 14:27:57
“No we haven't. The reforms the left has been calling for apply only to high finance and the banksters. You haven't been paying attention. The right is concerned only with the plutocrats, not with small business.”
“BofA didn't FORCE you to overdraft. You made the choice to use overdraft Yes, BofA sucks, and it is your fault for having them as your bank in the first place.
I never overdraft with my small bank, because I do not spend money I do not have.”
Loyd Hawkins on Dec 22, 2010 at 09:05:22
“If you pay attention to the news, that is exactly what BofA did. They didn't ask their customers if they wanted overdraft protection, they just instituted it. Small banks ASK you whether you want overdraft protection which you can decline. BofA and other large banks made billions and billions of dollars with this scam.”
joseph449008 on Dec 22, 2010 at 09:03:47
“You've never overdrafted by accident? It happens. And the fees are outrageous.”
“No, they just spend the money like there is an endless supply, come out every two years to the unwashed and tell their constituents "Look what I did for you! Keep voting for me", or if not an incumbent "Look how much money I can spend for you!"
Before you know it, you become almost fourteen trillions dollars in debt. when this happens, blame someone else.”
miamorphos on Dec 16, 2010 at 15:13:57
“Um, so no one should vote for tax cuts because the words "tax cuts" imply that the money really belong to politicians. Sigh. You're sticking to your guns, I see. "Tax cuts" implies that the money belongs to the politicians. Repeat as necessary. Continue. Repeat. And when I say, that "tax cut" refers to a cut in the tax rate, you can just repeat it again and say "No!"”
“I just love it when the crooks in Washington talk about "tax cuts" like it was their money in the first place. It is not. It never once. Despite us being heavily-taxed already, Congress, no matter if the D's r R's are running it, spend 1.50 for every dollar they suck out of the taxpayer. Unless you are an investment bank or political donor. For every dollar you give to some crook, you get one hundred back!”
MovieGuy2010 on Dec 16, 2010 at 12:59:45
So. lets start with all the states that take MORE out of fhe Government then the contribute in taxes.
Hint: Virtually ALL are Southern Red States, stronghold of the Republican Bagger Party.
You know..The ones that whine the most about Entitlements?
Walk the walk, baggers, and we in the blue states will believe MAYBE you aren't just blowing hot air...”
miamorphos on Dec 16, 2010 at 12:59:27
“Um, the money is used to fund a federal budget that is either paid or becomes unpaid "deficit" spending. The "crooks" who pay for infrastructure and defense and a host of government services and operations are, with a few exceptions, not devoting the money to themselves. I don't know who ever told you that the phrase "tax cut" means that the money belongs to politicians -- it's not what the idea means. You should perhaps find wiser sources of information.”
“Yes, billionaires should be taxed more, but the idiot politicians keep them happy by passing regulations that do not go after the billionaires, but small businesses! Gee, Hell forbid if any ambitious competition should knock you off your mountain.
$10,000,000 may not be a lot to someone making $25,000,000 but $100,000 is a lot for someone that makes 250,000!
The 250,000 bracket is where many small businesses are and the only things they have to lose is everything!”
“I am an atheist and my wife is too, despite both of us growing up Roman Catholic. My brother and his girlfriend are coming over. He like me, is an atheist and grew up Catholic and his girlfriend grew up with Judaism, but she left and became an atheist too!
It is going to be a atheist libertarian Turkey Day! Got a 13 lb. bird with all the fixings, and we really do not do desserts here, so it is going to be more turkey. And that bird will not go to waste because my wife and I have two cats and whatever we don't eat, THEY WILL! Before dinner, I will thank my wife for cooking the feast, thank my brother and his girlfriend for coming over. I wish that we as human beings can get along more, while as humans disagree on religion and politics, we can do it without stealing or killing each other.
We shall eat and eat well. Then we will drink local micro-brewed beer for dessert and watch some sports and movies!
“That is hogwash. It is the Republicans that started the paranoia about airport security. It was the Republicans that gave us the Patriot Act. The Dems are only extending them, among other things, such as control of our food supply.
As long as the two-party system is in place, the worse it is going to get.”
