“It's the fact that they live in a SECULAR nation, not a Christian one, that keeps the safe. Plenty of Christians would have no problem with laws sentencing gays to death if we lived in a theocracy.”

“Art, Morals, & science all come from Christianity. Without Christianity we would be living in dirt huts drinking dirty water like most of Islam does”

“And to reiterate TRK's point: we do NOT live in a theocracy. We have a separation between church and state--and THAT preserves our freedom of religion. Some christians would like force all of us to live by their beliefs, though--which pretty much makes them as bad as the Taliban. Not all christians, but some.”

“Parasites only ever hurt their hosts. Critics can hurt films and filmmakers, sure, but they can also build them up. Some good reviews from some respected critics can be the difference between a good movie being seen or not seen. There are obscure films I never would have even heard of or known to take a chance on if I hadn't heard from a critic I liked to go check it out. Criticism doesn't mean just negative criticism, you know. ”

“Nothing in your reply makes me think you understand the difference between art and criticism. And you don't know much about parasites either. Many parasites serve their hosts in a beneficial manner. They are still incapable of survival without the host, though.”

“Some people like me judge from critics we trust or tend to agree with whether to pay to see a film in theaters or not. Renting or streaming from online is one thing, but I don't have the money or the desire to test out all the films in theaters. Yeah, make up your own mind, but don't knock critics, they provide a useful service also.”

“Criticism is itself an art. But you're wrong anyway, there are plenty of filmmakers who have become critics or made forays into film criticism, and some critics who have become filmmakers and/or screenwriters, including people like Jean-Luc Godard and Paul Shrader. Quentin Tarantino is supposedly planning to delve into film criticism at some point in the future, also. Typically, the kind of people who rag on critics are filmmakers who've only ever been panned or film fans with bad taste in movies who resent hearing any criticism of the films they like.
No one is making people like you pay attention to critics anyway.”

“If criticism is an art, it is a damn parasitical one.”
“Bull. blacks commit most crimes usually at two or three (sometimes four) time sthe rate of whites or asians. I doubt prejudice in law enforcement can explain that kind of discrepancy, especially since it's replicated in crime statistics from around the world, according to INTERPOL. I'm almost looking forward to a time when whites won't have the same power in America as they do now. Who will you people blame then?”
“No, U.N. population projections. There is no single majority ethnic/racial group on Earth. Whites are currently around 12 percent of Earth's population. The largest ethnic group are the Han Chinese at 19%. Whites are not a doomed race. Whites AND asians this century are set to decline some because many white and asian nations have achieved a very high standard of living and that leads to a lower birth rates. Japan, for instance, is projected to decline in population by tens of millions before the century is through, but there will still be over 80 million Japanese. Whites are set to decline in numbers wordlwide and shrink some in percentage, but there will still be hundreds of millions of whites wordlwide. Also, most population growth from browns is coming from Africa and India. I doubt it will last, especially in Africa, because eventually the affects of overpopulation combined with the affects of Global Warming are goin to have something to say about those absurdly high birth rates. Millions and millions in those areas are already staving, more than any other places on Earth.”
“"But from that, I learned what great dogs they can be." Who's idea was it to get them in the first place? Your father or husband? Typically, I think women who like those dog breeds ar ethe kind who have some association with macho men. Maybe your an exception, I don't know. ”

“Honestly, not really. The decision was my mother's and she remains a devotee of the breed because of how incredible they have been to our family. There is a lot of misconception surrounding these breeds, and indeed some are attracted to them based on a "macho" perception.
Rottweilers are, actually, gentle and devoted to their families. Loyalty is an important trait for the breed, and they are considered one of the best breeds at "reading" people to figure out what they need. They're actually the 9th most popular breed, according to the AKC and the 4th most intelligent breed.
As for Pitbulls, I think some people get them for "macho" reasons and others as a "charity" case. Both are terrible reasons to get a dog, in my opinion. I was surprised to find out all the trainers at the local Petsmart have owned Pitbulls at one point or another. They seem to be very highly regarded in the trainer community, from what I'm told.”
“No it's not, there is no rule. There only appear to be more white serial killers and cannibals in America because whites are the majority population, therefore criminals are numerically more likely to be white. There are plenty of black serial killers and cannibals, too, they're just a minority like blacks are in the general population. There are cannibals and serial killers of every race all over the world, including Africa.”
