“It has been my observation that part of the reason gay and lesbian people are less tolerant of bisexuals is that they often feel threatened and jealous. Bisexuals (n the minds of intolerant gays and lesbians) represent not only the threat of "betrayal" within their community and their personal relationships, but also appear to possess the ability to comfortably assimilate into the hetero community and escape the discrimination that they themselves are unable to avoid while living out. I can understand this point of view, and it looks surprisingly similar to common hetero insecurities. Some men typically dislike any person their ex dates immediately after them. The feelings of betrayal are sometimes heightened when a same-sex partner leaves for a member of the opposite sex. As for "straight privilege" it is natural for people to sometimes feel jealous and resentful towards a group that appears to enjoy privileges they themselves can't. The problem is both of these things are still wrong, misguided and tainted by jealousy. A bisexual person may not necessarily date a different gender as a reflection on their ex but rather they just have feelings for a different PERSON. For us, love is love regardless of the gender. I loved my wife and was 100% loyal to her. Should I fall in love with a man, my heart and loyalty would be his. And as for avoiding discrimination? Nonsense, I get it from BOTH sides, gay and straight so don't talk to me about "straight privilege"!”
“I used to be married to a woman, I've been with men but when I had the opportunity to date one, I too was not emotionally mature or secure enough to accept his offer. At the time I had only just been outed (against my wishes) to my immediate friends, two of which were closeted lesbians and one was a closeted bi male, guess which 3 of my friends supported me the most :-) . Anyway I was at a little get together at a friend's house, His brother's ex boyfriend cornered me in the kitchen and came on to me really strong. I was still wrestling with being out and reeling from a breakup with someone I had strong feelings for. I wasn't ready for that, plus the way he cornered me actually scared me a little. Of course you know how hindsight works lol. But now I am happily single, focusing on putting myself and my goals first.”
“But if she were and you're still here then she had you anyway and that would make your comment pretty sad. If she were and didn't have you, you wouldn't exist to have an opinion on the matter so why should you care?”

“I don't think Apple is buying them for their headphones. A previous HuffPost article on the matter mentioned beats also has a streaming music service that apple may wish to acquire to compete with Spotify. I think it is likely that this is the main reason unless they have some plan to improve the quality of the headphones.”
“Nope, I didn't read anything about Fila Skeletoes (A similar but more affordable toed shoe) relieving plantar fasciitis, but I did with my custom orthotics which cost me more than the shoes. Guess which one relieved my pain. The orthotics only seemed to make the pain worse, but with the Fila Skeletoes my pain started to fade within hours of wearing them, within a few days the pain was completely gone and over a year later I am still pain free.”
“In fairness, they protect against injuries to the skin from gravel, broken glass and other harmful debris as well as the unnatural surfaces the human foot was never meant to run on. Our feet were made to run on grass and dirt not concrete or asphalt. The idea behind toed shoes is to allow more natural foot mechanics while still protecting the soles of our feet.”
“Like scientists and doctors have never been paid by big corporations to lie in order to eliminate the corporation's competition. Remember, Oil companies have scientists that insist climate change is a hoax and tobacco companies have scientists that say e-cigarettes are bad for you (A claim that is not only unproven but attempts to make you forget this fact: Every year tobacco kills more Americans than did World War II — more than AIDS, cocaine, heroin, alcohol, vehicular accidents, homicide and suicide combined. I will take my chances with the e-cigarette thank you very much.)”
“Perhaps she's not. I have a pair of Fila Skeletoes, a similar type of shoe but with some slight differences. I've never tried the Vibram brand, but the Fila shoes, which only cost me $30 relieved my plantar fasciitis pain that I had been suffering with for several years, and they are very comfortable. They achieved something not even orthotics could do. I would be skeptical of both sides of this lawsuit. They may not have had enough science to back up their claims, but I can testify that these types of shoes DO have benefits. I would wonder if detractors were being paid by footwear companies that stand to lose money should these become more popular than say...Air Jordans. Oh but of course, big corporations would NEVER sue or fund false studies to eliminate a product that would hurt their profits - Oh wait...”
“I have those shoes as well. I developed plantar fasciitis working security for years. I tried plenty of different insoles, even those "custom" orthotics. None of it helped. I bought Fila Skeletoes and started feeling relief almost immediately. They are really comfortable to walk in and a year later I am still pain free. I admit they may look funny, I've even had some friends comment (repeatedly) that they are ugly. I don't care, they helped relieve my agonizing foot pain. I don't know about Vibram, I can't vouch for that brand, but Fila Skeletoes cost me a mere $30 (Got them on sale) and I love them.”
“Same here. I wince and grumble any time i have to fix a friend's windows 8 computer. When i need Windows for games from developers who refuse to develop the games I play for the mac (Sony Online Entertainment and EA for example) OR when I need to do cross-platform website testing, I prefer windows XP and Windows 7 running via Parallels and Boot Camp respectively.
All of my web, new media and music production are done on my Mac Pro. All of my business tasks such as word processing, presentations and spreadsheets are done on my Mac Pro. All my web surfing and computer-based entertainment are done on...Mac Pro. There are only 2 games I play that require Windows. The rest of my gaming is done on Mac OS or on a console.
Sorry PC evangelists, but you can try to argue that PCs are just as powerful and cheaper all you want but there is a reason Mac user satisfaction is always so high. It is more than the power of the components, it is more than what third party software it runs. It not even about social status as so many try to claim. You have to consistently use it to understand. Mac OS just does it...nicer, smoother, cleaner. It's not enough for it to just work, it has to be pleasant to use. It has to be stable and powerful without being complicated. Windows has never truly achieved that.”

“Something else to think about. When I first heard that Michael Arndt was writing Star Wars, I was extremely worried. I despised Toy Story 3. I thought it was a terrible movie. I like what Abrams did with Star Trek and how he looked to Star Wars as an example of how to make it more fun and exciting. But if the script is bad, even Spielberg can't save it. So replacing Arndt with Kasdan was a huge sigh of relief.”
Oct 25, 2013 at 05:22:23
“So we are trusting rumors from a site called Bada** Digest now? COME ON PEOPLE! There is NO official statement that the script is being rewritten, and given that the schedule has not changed, a new script from scratch is not feasible. Michael most likely took it as far as he could and now the genius behind The Empire Strikes Back is taking over to refine, polish and complete the script. Lawrence Kasdan is the perfect choice to make sure this new film is as good as the original trilogy.”
“I like my iPhone, but this whole waiting in line for weeks stuff is just insane.
I prefer apple products due to years of fixing and using windows and linux based computers. I was even a certified windows expert. I just got fed up with all the problems. Windows 7 admittedly is not terrible. I still use it on my mac for apps that are windows exclusive (though there are not that many that I use that are) But I do all my serious, mission critical work on Mac OS. I am not a typical Apple fanboy, I switched for my own educated reasons. My overall experience using Apple products has been phenomenally better than my experiences with Windows, Linux and Chrome OS. I will continue to use Apple products until they are no longer a better experience, but I will never become an Apple Cultist, that requires the suspension of common sense and a lack of technical understanding.”

“Agreed. When "not terrible" is the best we can say for a product, that says it all. I use an old macbook - the older models still work great and the sticker price is reasonable. Can't say that about any windows machine.”
“Yes, Transgender is not related to orientation. A Male-to-Female trans woman can still be attracted to females, therefore making her a lesbian, just as a female-to-male trans man can like other men, therefore he is gay. Trans people can also be bisexual, pansexual (this is basically attraction to a person regardless of gender, including other trans people.) or even asexual, which is having no physical attraction to anyone. Trans people may choose to go on hormones to align their body to their identity, but aside from that they are no different than anyone else. I am friends with a few trans women and they are beautiful, amazing women with so much to offer the world.”
“Congratulations, you are older than me, what a great achievement . And your clever, biting wit is on full display as you have leveled such an articulate and compelling assessment of a person you have never met and know nothing about. That is an incredible talent you have, you really got me. I am amazed that you have not received a nobel prize for your brilliance. Have a nice day!”
“For starters, I am a computer technician with 16 years of experience, but it will be useless arguing with you or anyone else. The majority of humans, and especially Americans are driven by irrational fear and mistrust of anything new that they don't fully understand and are easily swayed by pack-mentality when someone starts preying on those fears. Yes, the NSA can intercept calls because they are being transmitted. Not only would the NSA need to have physical access to the phone to even attempt to retrieve the fingerprint data, they wouldn't need to as there are countless easier ways to obtain fingerprints. Now I am fairly sure you like so many others are driven by a strong dislike for Apple and it's products and you are free to do so but please don't presume to know me or my level of knowledge and attempt to preach of my ignorance when you yourself are demonstrating ignorance and arrogance just by doing so. If someone manages to hack the iPhone 5S and gain access to the fingerprint data, good for them, they get $13,000 and a pat on the back for retrieving data from a device that could just as easily be retrieved with some carbon powder and tape. I will be more impressed when someone finds a way to hack my brain to retrieve a video playback of the awesome dream I had the other night.”
“I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that another Politician has demonstrated an inability to read. The information about the security and function of Touch ID was already released. The fingerprints are never transmitted, the fingerprint data is encrypted and stored in a locked off section of the A7 chip and is impossible to access by anything but the touch ID software. It is not even available to other apps. It never leaves the phone. Also, it is impossible to spoof it the way other biometrics can be because it works like the rest of the phone's screen, capacitive touch, meaning the finger must be living tissue with a bioelectric charge running through it. Also the sensor reads both the surface AND sub-dermal layer of the finger so a gel mold won't work either. It pays to read.”

“You're a fool and know nothing about technology, the perfect patsy!
I have tons of clients like you, woefully ignorant but think they're technical whizzes because they can download an app!”
NHBill on Sep 20, 2013 at 14:12:45
“We'll see if all that is enough.
With a $13,000 prize to hack it it won't take long to find out how robust it is.”

“"The fingerprints are never transmitted, the fingerprint data is encrypted and stored in a locked off section of the A7 chip and is impossible to access by anything but the touch ID software."
Yeah and "nobody is listening to your phone calls" either right.?”
