OMFG! Let's Talk About Sex

OMFG! Let's Talk About Sex

“im not sure what holy spirit i was supposed to be leaving room for during those middle school dances but once i learned that masturbation doesnt cause your palms to grow hair i found space for dionysus in my daily life. i really liked this post, verena and i think your perspective is right on. When sex is really satisfying it seems only natural to think of something (or call out to something) otherworldly during the experience.”

“I think that's actually a pun,Unis. "If you masterbate, you will have HEIRS in your palm."”

“While glasses might be slightly dorky, there is no way to look cool with dry contacts (and lets face it, after two beers my proclear lenses get as dry as The Kalahari) --I be blinking and winking trying to lubricate my eyeballs. Not cute.”

“I know its not quite the same, you know, doing yoga in your living room by yourself...There is something nice about the collective energy/experience of the class (read: there is something nice about the teacher telling you to hold the damn lunge for 5 more impossible seconds) but YTTP does have a free 60 minute online class you could check out.”

“Two things:

1) People mag did some piece, in 2007, on celebs w/o make up (Drew Barrymore, that mini-person from desperate housewives, Katharine McPhee and others). It was nice. Who cares that People probably still needed a handful of makeup artists in order to prep for the shoot?

2) Verena: I think you might be onto somehting. Eyeliner might not = death, but in 2007 the nyc dept of health put out a warning on kohl eyeliners. (Eek, lead poisoning). So ladies (and gents, and punk rockers, I guess...), listen to the woman, shes trying to save you: Quit excessive eyelinering.”

“After reading you every tuesday, I think I like you and I dont want to hear that you have abandoned the HufPo for a fakie dude who makes you kiss his feet and pay an arm and a leg for his spiritual retreat/book/talk. And while your hardy cynacism will most likely save you from potential pit falls on your guru search, I think this link: (http://www.energygrid.com/spirit/ap-falsegurutest.html) may help you to debunk some of the loopy suggestions offered by loved ones and kind fellow posters; JimReed I've got my eye on you (be you're own guru??). I hope Oprah works out.”

“Religiously affiliated relief organizations are not in existence solely to serve people of their shared faith. I mean, example: Jehovah's Witnesses have rung my doorbell trying to save me on numerous occasions. Nothing wrong with being religiously affiliated. World Vision keeps their administrative costs under 5%, (which is more than I can say for the Nature Conservancy @ 10%--must be all the tote bags)...leaving World Vision with more money to devote to directly serving [Christian?] children. Excellent.”
