“Since Huff likes to make numbers seem huge, why don't they actually post some numbers? Considering that, if we go back those 7 years and add up all murders, mass murder deaths make up around .005% of all of those. If you also look at the numbers, the amount of murders has been continually falling, and is at it's lowest since those 7 years ago, but why don't we point that out either? The editor touts that "numbers tell a piece of the story", but why is it always the story that only they want?”
“You do realize that your exact method of thinking is why these kids shoot themselves? You teach them to "stay as far away as possible" and then when they encounter it one day, they have absolutely no idea what to do. Preaching abstinence hasn't stopped the majority from doing anything in a world where these things exist.”

“NO! The reason they shot themselves is because they had a gun! What is so hard to understand about that. NO Gun NO SHOOTING!
When my kid encounters a gun, I've taught him the safe thing to do. RUN AWAY and DON'T TOUCH IT! If you don't see that as the safest thing to do, you don't have any business being a parent. I assure you that running away and not touching the gun under any circumstance is far better than telling little "Billy" how to make sure the gun is safe.
PS--The owner of this gun in the first story, taught her son gun safety. It's the fact that the kid assumed he knew enough about guns to play with it that was the issue! Kids are NOT capable of playing with guns on their own, PERIOD! Kids below about 12 shouldn't even handle guns. They simply haven't developed the dexterity nor the understanding of the ramifications of their use. Above 12 is debatable, but they surely shouldn't be handling them without parental supervision.
This isn't sex which is a natural human instinct. This is about man-made killing machines. It is no more an instinct to have a gun than it is to own a chainsaw so don't give me that Hogwash!”
“If I recall, you can find them on specific folders inside the phones picture directories. I have found a couple that I took, but not other peoples that I've received. They are still there though, because the app still has to download the pictures.”

“The idea is that pictures that are sent disappear--if you sent it, it will still be there on YOUR phone but not the receiver....
“This was sarcasm, but I understand. Its just more proof that a staunch majority of voters are more or less mindless zombies that get up to vote for their party, regardless (in this case) of whether they are still alive or not.”
“A guy runs the NY marathon, barefoot, dedicated to the victims of the Boston Marathon. Comments section on HP filled with resentment and snide remarks because he's dressed like Jesus.
Never change, HP.”

“Yeah, cause nothing speaks of craziness like a simple "Boston Strong" t-shirt to show support. The people capturing this one Jesus couldn't fit the other thousand some odd Boston Marathon supporters also in their best Jesus outfits.”
“Ok, so you know how to spin, how nice for you. You went digging for that, did you skip over the following quote regarding the Koch brothers, " FP's flyers take advantage of a loophole in Colorado's disclosure lawsthat allows issue advocacy taking "a position on any candidate’s or officeholder’s character, qualifications, or fitness for office" to go unreported." My statement on money is that there is a lot on the NRA side and has been going on a long time. The other statement is about what the NRA membership wants yet their leadership is not heeding their message. ”

“Can you tell me again what happened to Colorado senator Giron and how much money came from where?”
sherryml on Oct 9, 2013 at 16:05:19
“90 percent of NRA members want stricter laws. That is the reason Coors resigned his position from the NRA board. Please don't tell me that money had nothing to do with the recall. Massive amounts of money from a multibillion dollar industry and their main lackeys are the NRA leadership.”
