“Yes, wouldn't it be nice if there were no black, white, or whatever churches. But the fact is - there are. The church I mentioned is a black evangelical church. No whites attend there. I used to attend a church across the street from that one and never saw one white person go in there. The same for the other churches in the area that are predominantly white. I am not knocking that. People congregate with others they know and feel comfortable around, and what they understand. However, it engenders myopic tendencies b/c both don't understand the other b/c rarely do they talk to one another.
I feel bad for this family and to realize it was in my small corner of the world. I wish I could have done something. Somehow...I wish I would have known.”
