Mindful Parenting: The Myths And Truths

Mindful Parenting: The Myths And Truths

Commented Nov 7, 2013 at 13:49:20 in Parents

“From one sometimes snappy mother to another, thank you for the article. Truly, your 5th point cannot be stressed enough. For me, mindful parenting is about learning to pause and practicing holding on to letting go. It's as much about self love and forgiveness as it is being present. Awareness and love. These are the fruits of my personal "go" at mindful parenting and NOT the always zen, always-perfect-parent. Please keep talking about this very important distinction. xoxo”

“Seriously TIME, you are using MOMS to sell magazines the week before Mother's Day? so wrong. so. I am breastfeeding my two+ year old twins and still, this picture offends me. Not because this tot or this mom nurse, but because this picture was intended to divide us. Period. SO sad. SO manipulative how the media CREATES the mommy-wars. I can't contain my response to this box so posted about it here: http://mymommymanual.com/attachment-parenting-feminist-crutch/

“i have four kids, my youngest, 3 year old twins. when I tuck them in at night, i place a hand on their backs and i breathe. i wonder, did i see you today? really see you? sometimes the answer from inside me is no, i did not. and so i sit a little longer. i breathe and let go of the guilt that shows up. i breathe. all is still. i can feel their breath under my hand. and for just that moment. i am there, with them. i see them. i am seen. xoxo (thank you for sharing. i can relate)”
