“Kashkari, Wall Street insider, great pick for Republican candidate for Governor of California. No wonder he had to spend $2,000,000 of his own money to run. What did the GOP have to promise him to get him to be this year's Republican sacrificial lamb?”
“Christopher Martin's father blamed craven (cowardly) congressmen and the NRA for his son's death and 90% of Americas agreed. Congressman Mike Thompson's bill for 19 million dollars to fund reporting to the national background check system is chump change. It's not even a fig leaf on the congress's naked abysmal failure to improve background checks.”
“Looks like Christie is continuing to lose weight. That may offset some the stigma of the perception of him as "scorched earth", "take no prisioners" kind of guy. Makes no sense, but voters are quixiotic.”
“Boehner is absolutely correct. The Republicans don't plan on doing anything differently. The GOP make a big show of fawning over our soldiers, but don't give a hoot about them once they become veterans. The GOP always slash funds for Veteran services.”
“It's the same old Republican song & dance. Turn the VA over to corporations.
Here's the GOP game plan. Cut budgets for federal programs and when they have problems demand that they be turned over to private corporations. The Republicans have been spectaularly successful in transfering a huge chunk of the defense budget to corporations and it has been disasterously profligate with taxpayer money. And dangerous for the troops.
The reason the GOP harps on "privatization" is to transfer taxpayer funds to corporations. It has nothing to do with efficiency. It has everything to do with larding corporations with taxpayer money.”
“What many right wing critics hate is the "individual mandate" which was recommended by right wing conservative Heritage Foundation and was adopted wholesale from the Romneycare program in Massechuesetts to "privatize" the healthcare insurance.
If right wingers don't like it, they don't like their own political precepts.”
“The conventional wisdom is that for the last 6 years we have had a DO NOTHING CONGRESS. But it is worse that that. By doing nothing our elected representatives are screwing the taxpayers daily. They collect their salaries but do NOthing to earn them. If they refuse to conduct the business of the country they should RESIGN.”

“Those who have refused to carry out the work they were elected to do should be ARRESTED, starting with McConnell & Boehner and all those who stood shoulder to shoulder with those misguided "leaders", and should be charged with public endangerment, conspiracy (make your choice about who/what the individuals conspired to do), mayhem, fraud, and anything else anybody can think of. That's just for starters .... then lock them up for a long as possible. It sure would make ME feel a bit better ...”
“As I recall a previous article on Huff Po said that the circulators were registered voters, but the avidavit neglected to indicate that they were 18 years old or older. Since one has to be at least 18 years old to be a rgistered voter the requirement was redundant. Appears to be an attempt to rig another election by the Republicans.”
“GOPP code. Small government means privatize government programs Ie Social Security, Medicare ie transfer all that federallcash to corporate America AND shred the safety net ie starve food stamps, housing programs etc..”
“If the owners had been running the company in a safe manner he wouldn't be complaining about excessive audits. The hazard of "catastophic failure" is a result of NOT ENOUGH timely audits.”

“i would add attitude about work place safety regulations and compliance by management is the ultimate determining factor. There are some company's that take the attitude OSHA is there to help reduce accidents and deaths. Others think OSHA is just a huge inconvenience a hindrance to profit if you will. Most workers have no idea of some of the very harmful things that exist in their work place,”
