“Christopher Martin's father blamed craven (cowardly) congressmen and the NRA for his son's death and 90% of Americas agreed. Congressman Mike Thompson's bill for 19 million dollars to fund reporting to the national background check system is chump change. It's not even a fig leaf on the congress's naked abysmal failure to improve background checks.”

How VA Clinics Falsified Appointment Records

Commented May 28, 2014 at 13:26:15 in Politics

“It's the same old Republican song & dance. Turn the VA over to corporations.

Here's the GOP game plan. Cut budgets for federal programs and when they have problems demand that they be turned over to private corporations. The Republicans have been spectaularly successful in transfering a huge chunk of the defense budget to corporations and it has been disasterously profligate with taxpayer money. And dangerous for the troops.

The reason the GOP harps on "privatization" is to transfer taxpayer funds to corporations. It has nothing to do with efficiency. It has everything to do with larding corporations with taxpayer money.”
