“It won't matter who wins the election. We are no longer a united nation or people, divided along social, economic, religious and sexual/gender lines. We seem to despise each other, or maybe we really do. The last 4 years and campaign season has changed me forever, and not in a good way. From these comments here, you have been changed, too. I regret it, for all of us.”
“Listen to yourselves. No wonder the world is in this desperate state. Have we become so narcissistic and sociopathic that events both here and abroad are only a backdrop for hate-filled rhetoric and political bludgeoning? The waste of life and spilling of innocent blood by zealots must stop. We are at WAR, ladies and gentlemen, a war we MUST win. If our divided house is not reunited, we will fail.”
“You neglected to mention, Ms. Thomas, that the victim's own family says Romney wasn't involved in the incident. That being said, you can't legislate good behavior. That starts at HOME.”

“Totally! You can't use legislation for creating boundaries that help protect American citizens! That's why there aren't such things as traffic lights and restraining orders! That's why our country doesn't have a drinking age and allows children to purchase guns from supermarkets!”

“1. No they didn't. They said the victim had never mentioned it. Look it up.
2. You may net be able to legislate good behavior, but you can legislate against bad behavior. That's why those who commit acts of violence can end up in jail.
It would be better if you actually thought before posting instead of regurgitating the far right talking points.”

“@aheadofthestorm - It's very possible - even likely - that John Lauber's family was not aware of all the details. Any kid who's been bullied will tell you that exposing the bully/bullies (especially those who happen to be from prominent families) is a no win proposition - especially back in those days.
Further - there are four witnesses who have come forward and verified not only that Romney was involved - but he was the instigator.
Then there's the incident where he deliberately walked a myopic teacher into a door - deriving great amusement out of the man's humiliation.
There is a clear and disturbing lack of character revealed in these incidents - none of which Romney claims to recall. How very convenient for him - since everyone else who was there remembers them. John Lauber remembered them until he died.
Why are high school "antics" and bullying relevant to Romney's candidacy? Well, they provide background and help explain his callous comments and lack of sensitivity.”
“Are you kidding me?? What's the felonious part? Dating a former student of the school, or a teacher dating one of their former students? Well, guess what. IT DOESN'T MATTER. Existing laws protect kids from adult predators. So, they'll pass a law forbidding associations, sexual or otherwise, between consenting ADULTS?? We are in deep, deep trouble.”
