“Force people, of course not. I’m sure he paid some to show up, but the main point is that you need to have a credible platform that is supportive of this voting block if you want them to come and listen to you talk about what might be in their best political interests...”
“Ok, but his basic philosophy is clearly not small gov't. Federal spending not being what it was under Bush or Clinton has more to do w/ the recession, sequestration and the Tea Party... lets not give credit where it's not due.
And what Obama gets blamed for isn't half what Bush received from the Left.”
“So you think the Dems want to shrink the size of gov't?”

“Didn't say that. Just saying that despite what you may have heard, it is not growing, and taxes are not going up.
There are plenty of things to fault Obama for, but growth of federal government payroll, and higher taxes are not on the list. Neither is "socialized medicine", "death panels" or "bringing Sharia law to America"....but I hear these things all the time from his detractors. I wish we could just stick to the facts.”
“Your first link is to nowhere: "PAGE NOT FOUND | 404"
The 2nd link, does not refute that the number of federal employees has gone down.
Hey...I know that your favorite media has been telling you for years that Obama is growing the government. But, its just not true. Total federal workforce is down.
I know you have been told he is taxing us like crazy. But thats not true either, Federal taxes are at historic lows (unless you make more than $450K a year).
Just a thought: If you get your info from a media source that is highly critical of the President ( I'm guessing you do)..please remember, politics is a dirty business, and take anything you hear with a grain of salt.”
“The size of our federal gov't is bigger than ever. DC is the wealthiest area in the country.”

“"Since President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration, government employment has dropped at an average 0.7 percent per month. Aside from a temporary spike in hiring for the 2010 Census, the federal government's employment has been declining"
“Trade agreements and mass immigration. We export our factories and import cheap, low-skilled labor in mass. That's a great way to destroy a middle class. Why do you think big business is a strong advocate for both?”

“Nope...........its about our lack of a comprehensive manufacturing policy that addresses intellectual property, currency manipulation, and a lop-sided trade deficit. (which in turn has a direct effect on log term employment issues in this country) Neither party has attempted to correct these issues.
Income inequality rose in the 80's due to minimum wage.
“Yeah, but inequality has really exploded under this one.”

“Perhaps, but do you really think there's anything Obama could have done about it? I mean, he can't even get a judicial nominee past congress. And they're mostly in the pockets of the one percent . . .”
