“The Military/Industrial complex is trying to 1: Militarize our country (as if it wasn't bad enough) and maximize profits by finding another source to buy their war equipment..
THREE CHEERS FOR THE PEOPLE FIGHTING THIS PURCHASE.
In the end we are all paying for this equipment thru our taxes.”
“Have you noticed the hordes of criminalm cruel, ignorant and stupid people out there? We really need to cut back on all these unwanted and unwarranted pregnancies and births and try to promote healthy, loving, wanted children that will be educated, well reared and taken care of..to make our species better human beings..”
“IMO..OWS is a great movement but OWS has to target individual businesses to really have an effect.
In the last 50 years there has been a great shift in the relation between business and customer. In the old days the customer was always right, now the customer is always wrong. Banks used to give you incentives to open an account, now cell phone companies charge you (the customer) an activation fee. They are doing YOU s favor by letting you use their service. Banks used to do anything fir the customer. My check was late and I had some checks out? NO PROBLEM! They would clear your checks (no charge). Now they look for ways to stick it to you. An hour late, late fee. Overdrawn? Another big fee. They seem to be in collusion with the Credit Bureaus. Sort of blackmail you into paying late fees.
So..do not pay Activation fees. Late fees...Don't be a deadbeat, but sometimes a payment is late. If you are charged a late fee, you state: I DON'T PAY LATE FEES, IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH ME AS A CUSTOMER, LETS PART AMICABLY AND I'LL TAKE MY BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE.”

“In the above post, you refute whatever point you were trying to make. Businesses don't have the power over consumers -- it's the consumer who has the ultimate power to walk away from the deal, and take his/her business down the street.
So don't just say "banks used to..." Go find one that does what you want. I did. It's called a credit union.”
“Rugby is a great sport but don't compare it with American football...Our game is geared to violence. A large number of ex football playetrs die at very young ages. You read about them almost daily in the sport sections..”

“Gorgol..you are absolutely right!! I also voted for Obama, holding my nose as he was an unknown but as soon as he named Geithner, Summers, Rubin et al as his economic team I knew he was out to screw the people..”

“The Wall Street Journal said the same thing, expect 4 more years of Bush economics.”
“Since we have recently found out that the (Rich) are involved with the IMF to screw over countries and make money; could it be possible they are bank rolling a lot of the drug cartels so of course we don't (Congress)want to pass legislation making drugs legal. Sounds far-fetched but who knows?”
“The elite in charge will just sit back and wait the protest out; with occassional raids by their minions (the police) to make the protesters uncomfortable and eventually disband. Something out of the ordinary has to happen to force this nation of thieves to become more honest. The people reaping all the riches; i.e. our Congressmen, CEOs etc. are not going to give up willingly.
Lets not fool ourselves.”
“We (and I'm sure that's mostly women) donated more than $3 million to Planned Parenthood in the past three days.
According the Planned Parenthood's Facebook page, "Every dollar we received for this fund will go directly for breast exams and diagnostic services, as well as breast health outreach and education. And now with the Komen announcement, even more women will receive lifesaving breast cancer care!"”
“Absolutely right Medic. As a long time camper, I always had a firearm. Just for self protection. No one knew I had it in my duffel....Never had to use it either. This was Just some criminal who had a warrant out on him someplace and was afraid of a traffic stop; so having no brains he has now committed murder and will spend the rest of his life in jail when caught.”
“Its better to get rid of these Democrats in name only. They only screw up social legislation. I would rather know my enemies than be repeatedly stabbed in the back. Still a few to go. Baucus, for one.”
“We must break the existing system and vote for some other party, whethetr it be Green, natural ort whatever. We MUST break the existing power system.”

“The existing "power system" has nothing to do with the parties. The two parties, Democratic and Republican, are there simply for the entertainment of the people..........kind of an amusing parody on truth.”

“I see nothing wrong with ID proving that you are a registered voter and am progressive but pragmatic.”
Boomer in Itasca on Dec 23, 2011 at 18:05:54
“You need some form of ID to register. Once you're registered, you do not, and should not, be required to vote.
The acceptable forms of ID include all that SC was asking for PLUS utility bills with your address on them and other such documents. By requiring voters to provide a state issued photo ID to vote, the state is placing an undue hardship on minorities, the elderly and the disabled among others. It's a flat out attempt to reduce the number of people who would likely vote Democratic.
Typical Republican bullsheise. Those b__tards will do anything to win an election. And then they go around bragging about their patriotism. What a crock.”

“When you vote you sign up at your polling place. one name one signature.
You have to go to the DMV (or where ever folks go in their respective states) and pay for an I.D. That makes it harder for the elderly, people suffering from illnesses, and poor citizens exercise their rights by voting. Jim Crowe-like.
It is a constitutional right for citizens to vote and it is illegal to block it in any manner.”

“If you are a registered voter, then you shouldn't have to re-prove who you are, just to vote. If you registered properly, you should never have to do it again at the poll.”

“You see nothing wrong with disenfranchising thousands of minority and senior voters, who would be affected by this law? You don't fit the definition of a "progressive" from my perspective. With 29 fans, you are probably another right-wing tr0ll, but I guess I could be wrong.”
