“This is just political posturing they know the Chinese Government is never going to extradite military officials that were doing officially sanctioned activity. What we need to do if we were serious about this issue is ban Chinese imports of any tech they try and spy on.”
njdanie on May 19, 2014 at 23:13:35
“No, but none of these guys will be able to travel outside China such as to attend conferences in America or Europe...
And, it's also a first step to ban import of certain Chinese goods that may contain 'stolen' techonologies...
There probably is a method to this madness...”

“The harm is not just China stealing a product know how from U.S. company doing business in China and selling that product back to the U.S.
It is much more finite and crucial than the above. It is proprietory information that took years to research, invent, and develope, or detail private data on all of us Americans. Most of the info were not stolen from companies already doing business with China, but from companies here in the U.S. and their servers around the world.”
“But excessive use of solitary confinement for adults is ok of course right DOJ? Despite experts nationwide saying it causes permanent mental health issues which put society at risk when offenders are released?”
“Obama does have a lot of explaining to do and personally I hope he explains how Republicans have stalled progress on ever bill that would help workers and families and create jobs. I hope he grills Republicans for shutting down the government.”
“Now the Tea Party is going to bash him for this too... You know because Republicans never make mistakes!”

“Except when President Bush Sr. barfed into the lap of the Japanese minister.
Or when Bush Jr. walked into a door.
Or when Bush Jr. fell off his bicycle.
Or . . . etc., etc., etc.
They ALL make mistakes, some small, some big - yes. Presidents are human.”
“If the drug war did end the big dilemma will be what do you do with the people when they are released? Most apartment complexes have policies that without exception prohibit felons as renters regardless of their charges.... Most employers have similar policies.
Without housing opportunities or jobs opportunities what do these release people have to look foward to? How are they expected to not fall back into crime if they cannot get jobs and be housed?”
Freetheinternet on Apr 8, 2013 at 15:37:12
“You bring up an excellent point which is partly a result of the failed war on drugs. Thousands and thousands of convicted felons who cannot vote, are denied leases and jobs and have little opportunity to improve their lives. The deck is stacked against felons, even non-violent drug offenders and that is not morally right. A person should not continue to be punished the rest of their lives after they have paid their debt to society. A former friend of mine had a felony conviction for selling a pound of marijuana when he was 19, spent a few years in prison and he is marked for life. Even though he quit drinking, got married and has kids now, he has a very hard time finding a good job that's isn't just temporary side work. Businesses just don't like to hire felons, even though he got out over 10 years ago and has turned his life around. He takes care of their 2 little toddlers, but he is basically f(cked for life in getting a decent job thanks to society and the failed war on drugs.”

“Good point! A construction site nearby where I work has signs saying that theft from this site is a felony. Who would have thought, petty theft from a construction site makes you a "felon" ineligable to be a productive member of society...”
samidean on Apr 8, 2013 at 15:24:45
“That can be solved, but to just continue to house these NON violent offenders, at over $60,000 per person, per year is ridiculous in a country that is supposed to be so broke, that we are contemplating cutting grandma's Social Security benefits.

“Hopefully they would wipe the charges off the records of non-violent drug offenders.”

“Not really anyone's problem but the released prisoners. There are half ways houses and there are other places that rent to them.”

“Staggering number of grads had three or more room mates because they could not afford to rent a place of their own with their shrinking wages despite their education and skills.... Wall Street is winning.”

“bkerensa-- Three to a room!! Great basis for a T>V> show, heh!? Got to be white people though. If one uses Asians, or Hispanics the show may be labeled racist or bigoted.”
Unfortunately, I had it set to update automatically and now I have a magazine instead of a news app.
*The display doesn't rotate.
*The menu and headline displays are gone replaced by a single photo linking to a single article.
*The icon was deleted from the home screen.
*Of the favorites I had set, most were deleted and some were added that I had no interest in.
Mr. Klenert, please make the prior interface available as an alternative.
For now, I've uninstalled it and will just use the browser version.
One thing this has taught me is to turn off auto-update on all of my apps.”

“Funny thing is most decent employers do not need a law like Obamacare/Affordable Care Act to mandate offering insurance to employees.... Decent employers give employees benefits after the probationary period.
Locals should boycott Taco Bell and see how quick they change their policy.”

“boycotting will lead to reduced sales which will lead to layoffs. how is that helping the employees?”
dragon7380 on Jan 8, 2013 at 18:04:54
“exactly. The Small Business Assoc of American estimates that the loss to Small Business with respect to production is around $2.5 BILLION a year because of sudden illness for an employee or a family members. BUT the scope of Obamacare is actually preventive maintenance that does not wait until you are sick but helps you NOT get sick in the first place.
Add to that the idea that these stories are jokes. Any cost to the Employer is a Business Expense and as such is a Write Off on their Taxes. it does not cost them a dime, they are just trying to make a political statement. These are the very same type of people who do not want to see the food safety inspections or inspections of processing plants for food products.”
