Rand Paul's Son Arrested For Underage Drinking, Disorderly Conduct: Report

“Corporations have merged with parts of the federal government as one force, so saying that it is the government or the corporations is no longer accurate. Corporations pay lobbyists to distort the way that the law is interpreted so that a few can get the majority of government services and the rest are left behind. Business is driving the government to enact these laws, so it is a weak government that allows this. The databases that they have implemented both privately and for the government contain a complete dossier on just about every American and probably half the world too. This is exactly what Hitler did first before he took freedom away. Don't ask me what has come over them to do this, but this is supposed to be a free country, with free elections, where the people are represented equally! We do not need one class that has all the money and power as a partner with the government and the other 98% of us to fend for ourselves! We need everybody in this country to begin to use their freedom as it was intended, as Mr. Nader says, and have everybody in each district cognizant of what is going on. We need much more activism that Mr. Nader asks for, but many of his actions have been effective in the past to actuate change. Somehow these private propaganda machines like the Tea Party and Rush Limbaugh need to be exposed for what they are - spokesmen for the”

“Although compromise is a big word, there are things that need to be done to get America back to where it was economically at a point in time before this thought that the 1% are all that mattered. Although they are people with lives who do not like to pay a lot of taxes, none of really like to pay a lot of taxes. The U.S. is one of the least taxed countries in the world, and one of the main reasons is because our production has been the highest in the past, with our standard of living being the best - up until they started staying the same in the 1970's. This country will just be another despotic banana republic if we continue on this supply side economic pipe dream. It is demand from the consumer that drives an economy and that will only thrive if they are compensated commensurate with their productivity rate, efficiency, and effectiveness. It is not right to make your neighbors wards of the state and I believe that is where the problem is coming in. Hire American, pay a decent wage, pay you rightful taxes, and be Americans with the rest of us!”

“I guess no one should care? is that what YOU are implying?? This is utter rubbish. REAL criminals do not get hard labor or get sent to prison. They are in our schools, in high offices...small time petty criminals are the ones who suffer and go through the system. You do not understand the "BUSINESS" which is called "prison", it is VERY profitable!! extremely lucrative in the USA. A well disguised business. Can you talk about the victims that priest, teachers, lawyers, doctors have left behind without recourse? I do not endorse ANY criminal activity and sadly it's EVERYWHERE not just among those who are depraved.”

About the only thing that he is capable of fighting in real life are chickens and little animals or trying to bully people around! I understand that he is a one of those old time redneck cops in the New Orleans area. Now he is known for running over little animals with a tank!”

“People forget that welfare and the like is really a subsidy for business because they did not pay enough wages or benefits in the first place, or they are unable to maintain full employment, which are two things that free enterprise hasn't been able to do. They try to say that it is lazy people but it is not for the most part.”

Why Americans Are So Angry

Commented Aug 2, 2011 at 03:59:19 in Politics

“If studies show that Americans favor Democratic ideas and the Republicans keep getting elected then maybe the polls are being fixed. I know that a computer can be fixed any way that one wants, and after the Diebold scandal and the proof that they did fix elections then something has got to give. Is there a way that our government could show us that the elections weren't being rigged. Maybe they even paid for Obama to get in. Has anybody every looked to see where all of his money came from. I thought that it came from the grass roots but maybe not. Now he is with the wealthy and he keeps capitulating. He could be the one who actually helps them totally destroy this country because if a Democrat does not win the Presidency next year then we will be pillaged by the rich some more like when George W was in office. The middle class cannot take any more of this and because they are dependent upon the wealthy business people then they will have no chance if the government does not support our way of life.”

“Hey Michael,

I haven't seen you for a while but have been seeing occasional stories. Glad you are fighting this because it doesn't affect your mind, so illusions that people have about realities are mainly just that - illusions. Peoples minds play so many games that many of them are unsure of what they are comprehending anyway. Do not worry what others think! Good luck and maybe I will see you again somewhere.”
The Economic Truth That Nobody Will Admit: We're Heading Back Toward a Double-Dip

The Economic Truth That Nobody Will Admit: We're Heading Back Toward a Double-Dip

Commented Apr 4, 2011 at 03:38:22 in Business

“It's real possible that we are going to have a double dip recession in this country, but not in China or India. US companies have hired millions there since the recession started. Even though they haven't been hiring here they are hiring and investing in Asia to get that cheap labor so that they can sell us these products at an obscene price. Things that they pay 50 cents for in China they charge us $50 here. I understand that they have ran out of workers in China, and that is in a country where they estimate 1.5 billion, which is 5 times larger than the US, and American companies have put many of them to work. If they would have hired here in America everybody would be working, even the skid row bums, welfare people, even the 30 million unemployed here. That's right, they say that the real rate is about 18% to 23% due to people dropping out of the work force. So what the productive American worker got for being the most productive in the world was a pay cut (real wages are the same as in the 1970's) and many of them got laid off. So much for the incentive that the so called 'free enterprise' crowd talks about. Hopefully they won't let everything go too far or they will have a situation like the middle east, where people got fed up. They have been going about 30 years or so and so have we!”

“Excellent, builder7. You and winemaster2 raise some valid points. To repeat my prior reply to winemaster2: Why hasn't anybody gone to jail for this latest economic meltdown? The fix is in, folks, and has been for some time. It's just gotten more blatant in the last few years. Suggested reading: "A People's History Of The United States" by Howard Zinn; "Life, Inc." by Douglas Rushkoff; "The Media Monopoly" by Ben Bagdikian; "Dark Alliance" by Gary Webb.”

Eichmanns Rabbit on Apr 4, 2011 at 09:24:58

“You're right about everything. Open trade with countries like India and China means the American worker will only be able to compete when he works for close to the same wages. I'll also add that the US is one of the few countries that has no accurate measure for inflation. Not only are people earning less, they are paying more for food and energy as a percent of their income. People getting fed up before the US reaches developing world status may not be the worst thing that could happen.”

“Well, it seems that climate does not matter that much. It does look like low wages or a high cost of living leads to more violent crime (drugs) and property crimes. This is what the whole US is in store for, so criminals, please, please, go to the gated communities and slip over the fence - the money is better there and the poor can't afford you! That way there will be a more direct effect upon those that have caused all of these poverty spots by their greed. You might as well say that these spots are where the greediest rich people live.”

“So, where were all of you people since the 1960's? We all yelled and screamed that there was only one party in this country (the military industrial complex and the rich) and that corporations controlled the whole thing. We also argued about how they exploited the races and liked to cause different groups to be divided against each other. Millions of people have had to make a living in the underground market and in response they built cells for 8 million people. They can't afford welfare but they can afford millions of police, guards, prisons, parole officers, etc. Now they are conditioning us for black military police units with police dogs that knock our doors down and take people away. Now they are supporting 6 million in that program of prisons with most people there for drug offenses. They can't afford anything that helps the people, but if it is some pie in the sky system where they can make billions then they are all for it. They screamed for years that the wages are too high, but have they tried to compete against Chinese companies. No, they are there trying to take them over so that they can do the same thing. That is partly what this downturn is about, they want the Chinese to start failing and turning their companies over to the ones in other countries. Why was nothing done about all of the political complaining that came out of the 1960's?”

“Its been a continual process (political campaigning and activism). That's why such an effort was made behind the Obama campaign - because the ideas and illusions of change and reform will always be an alluring concept for Americans.”
