“1) Hello Kfoster323, it is not always a hostile environment! I agree it could be better, but I love teaching and have chosen this for the past 20 or so years even though I could have earned more with less work in a different area. (I've been in some commercials and while that is amusing and different, there is no comparison to the satisfaction of that moment when a random group of students becomes a class.”

“I am also a teacher and understand. I am in NJ and we have been constantly assaulted nearly every day for the last two years with Christie at the helm. He even made sure to mention it during his keynote speech. The radio programs, everything here is spewing with misinformed hatred at us on a daily basis. It IS hostile here. Even parents question us now when there is a problem with their child. It has not been pleasant.”
“I heard a radio show where the announcer was very anti-global warming -- I mean he didn't believe in it, not that he was against it. He said something like, "I'm going to go out and buy the biggest, most gas-guzzling tank of an SUV and get all my friends to do the same, just to show what I think about all that."
I don't get it. The worst that can happen if we reduce pollution is that we have a healthier planet,
What's the worst we can do if we go overboard on pollution? I lived in LA in the 1970s as a toddler when they would give updates each day on the smog and tell kids to walk not run if they had to go outside.”
“Twice when channel-flipping I paused on what I thought was some sort of Saturday Night Live sketch which turned out to be Fox news. I had never seen it before (I listen to news radio) but now occasionally I watch it for the comedic value.”
