“I suggest John McCain. Who would know better about the needs of the returning veterans and who knows better the workings of congress? Plus, its his patriotic duty to serve when called on and how called on by the President... plus, we democrats could finally get some good out of this guy and get him muzzled to boot!”

“He'd spend his time doing everything he could to make Obama look bad and then publicly blame him for the problems.”
“I'm ok with getting one of our brave military troops back and five detainees seems a low enough price. I just hope someone implanted a tracking chip into the behinds of every one of those Guantanamo POW'S before they were let go!”

“I just wish we'd gotten him back in exchange
for 80-100 useless Republican politicians.

“5 for 1? Negotiating with terrorists? Really?
No our men and women are targets for abduction. Now our enemies know we are week and will trade hostages.
Something we have never done. We are all worse off today than yesterday.”
“So would you mind sharing just WHAT is the dominant race? According to blacks its white people- according to whites its Mexicans- according to Mexicans its everyone else! So I can't resent being hated just because I'm white and the hating person is black? Or that I am hated by some because I'm gay? Isn't what you and I are really talking about simply hatred of those perceived as the ruling or dominant or majority class?
Hatred is simply hatred. Reverse racism is hatred. Every time I (being white) encounter blacks who hate me just because I am white shouldn't I resent it and shouldn't I be saying, "what the hell do you want from me that you think you can get by hating?"
Talk is cheap. Reversing hatred by activism is human. Try being human.”

“these are simple definiti0ns dominant vs majority. the whites who say that Hispanics are the dominant race lack education because latins are not the majority, yet and are certainly not dominant”

“Viggo, Viggo, Viggo. This interview (if indeed it IS accurate) makes it sound like you thought you were signing on for "The Viggo Mortensen Show" starring Mr. Mortensen. Did you even try to READ the books first? Or did you sign on for the paycheck and the shot at becoming a super star? Oh well- I'm glad you did sign on and I hope in future you will come to see the three films as the fantasy they really are- and should be!”
“When it seems that every grocery store sells sushi and the amount of organic food available for sale is pyramiding every year why would I take my hard won dollars and throw them away at overpriced unhealthy corporate palaces designed to maximize profits and not much else. Even BUFFETS now offer some healthy food choices worth the price! Instead I dine at home and watch all the food shows on cable and dream of strange and exotic things I may never get to eat- but I COULD.”
“Yep- to cite the authority GWB in a presidential meeting about NSA and other invasions of privacy when told this might violate the constitution and its amendments, "it's just a goddam piece of paper!"”
“Someone tell McCain that he should worry about the cross border invasion from Mexico that he could solve with just a few nukes and a couple of hundred thousand troops. At least I think that would be HIS response to an immigration problem that congress needs to address. Better yet, forget about the quota and open the borders and just tax the ones who want to come work here!”
“There was a porn star who went by Long Dong Silver and though I never heard of it being measured it had to be longer- MUCH longer! And big whangs are kinda rare but one boy I went to junior high with actually showed me that his measured 13 inches. Seriously! Mine could have set the record for the smaller category- guess that was the long and short of it. (Groan)”

“Beware of rulers where an inch is actually 3/4 of an inch. ;)”
“There was a legend in Vegas when I lived there that one strip casino had an electronic shoe. The flap that they slide up to deal out a card was magnetized and tens were also magnetized so that when the flap found a ten value card it would hold it till the dealer could press a spot on the shoe and release it for his card. out of six or seven cards the odds are pretty good the show would find and hold a ten and the dealer would automatically have a ten card in the hole and a ten card to flip up. Think the casino was gonna complain that the table was running HOT for the house? Not likely!
Was it true? I couldn't prove it... but you can bet I never played at THAT casino.
“Warren Buffett (the darling of those of us who condemn big CEO paychecks) has a secret. His salary- that modest stipend he is paid (compared to most CEO paychecks) is only ONE source of his wealth. Another one is the incentive pay he receives as bonuses. Some years his bonus checks have hit north of 100 million dollars. So his modest seeming salary is actually in line with most of those evil CEO's that make SO MUCH MONEY! Is he worth it? His board and compensation committee seem to think so.”
“Remember what Red (Morgan Freeman) said in Shawshank Redemption when he made parole? He admitted to killing a man and said he had been sent to prison for life and "that's just what they took". If you think about it- there are almost no 70 plus year old parolee's who are re arrested for murder. When you are old, taking a life is much less important than LIVING a life.”
“I've no doubt what the law says in over a dozen states that I have driven in and been licensed for driving but I have NEVER driven in, been licensed in or even visited Australia (or, for that matter, Canada). Still, if I state it as an absolute, that the cyclists were in the wrong, then did that change one single other thing I said? No. The price paid by all is more than enough and money for money's sake changes nothing- it just enriches a law office and not much more.”
“This article and the attending comments are horrifying! Why do we need to affix blame? The cyclists didn't do what they should have and they paid a horrible price. One will live the rest of his life with the nightmare of what happened. One will have that, PLUS the pleasure of having to deal with all the mended broken bones and whatever else will go with that. One paid with a life. The driver, while possibly in the right, wasn't expecting to find three cyclists in the dark ahead but now gets to live with the knowledge that she killed someone with her car. Think money would make this any easier for any of these people? Make it go away, heal the broken bones and the psyche and bring back the dead? If the driver was suing for car repairs, then I guess that would be the law.
But now people are suing each other and not to prove a point or get a law changed. No. For MONEY. What gaul. What greed. What lawyers. Lawyers should be sued for encouraging this kind of activity. Thats the criminal. A greedy lawyer.”

I strongly urge you to take a driver's ed course.”
“This land belonged to Indians (indigenous Americans) and was taken by the federal government during the 1848 Mexican American war. The bulk of the land was not offered as homestead land due to scarcity of resources such as water. Most of it was used as grazing land but the ranchers overgrazed this land and failed to properly manager the resources. I believe the current standard calls for one cow per over 100 acres (depending again on the amount of vegetation, water and condition of the soil itself.)
The Bureau of Land Management sets the number of cows per allotment and charges a grazing fee to try to reimburse the cost of managing and inspecting that land so it isn't exhausted beyond its ability to renew its vegetation. Clowns like Bundy want to beat the federal government out of those fees and run as many cattle as they can to maximize profit for themselves while the federal government (remember them, WE, the people???) has to try to clean up the mess made by the Bundys of the world. Selfish people who profit from you and me. Grazing isn't a right. Bundy never applied for homesteading rights and never tried to claim the land in a court of law. He has NO standing in land ownership or usage and he owes two decades of fees to boot! Guess he's just the western version of the one percent, robbing the rest of us!”
“Maybe prisons need two new areas- one for the ones who can't be in Gen Pop as they are unable to do well around the older and or more hardened criminals and one for the psycho guys who just can't be controlled in any other way. Just a thought. And for those who think I'm soft on crime I still think the truly worst ones should be in glass cells over the entrance gates of the prisons- with just a slop bucket and a food bucket for company. No tv, no books or magazines... no visitors and no outside contacts beyond free medical treatment IN THEIR CELLS.
And video feeds for anyone who cares to watch them. Wanna murder people? You too can live HERE- after all your appeals have been exhausted. Barbaric? You betcha. Should we do it? I really don't know.”
“Your response is appreciated but I wonder if you will appreciate my response.
No, I don't expect underage children to be active but they often are. And yes, I did know about birth control at that tender age. In fact, I knew it even younger.
So if the parents of the girl failed to tell her not to be sexually active or at best didn't contact anyone to get the girl birth control methods then THEY are at fault. Not the girl. And though I don't know the law in England, here in Nebraska the parents would at best lose the girl to social services... they could also face charges for condoning the girls behavior. And the girl at that age would face having her child taken away and put up for adoption by someone who COULD provide a better home than a twelve year old and a thirteen year old can provide.
Harsh, I know- but perhaps in the long run better for the tot than growing up around THIS irresponsible mess of a family unit.”
