“I have a wish also. What if the Pinocchio story was real. Just think if every lie told would grow your nose. WOW!!! Can you imagine what our politicians would carry around or very likely drag around!”
“You got that right regarding the one sided Joe show. I always wondered why anyone bothered to show up. Joe is so strongly obsessed with himself that no one else ever gets to finish a sentence. I hope this will be a good move for Willie. I know he has lots to say but never really given the chance to truly express himself without being interrupted. I no longer watch Joe - can't stand watching Mika play such a dumb role when I know there is more to her than staring up at Joe while he rants and raves. She is smarter than that.”

“I would like to take one "Tiny" exception to your opening lead. Some people get to finish sentences - those who agree with Joe. Anyone who takes an opposing viewpoint is buried immediately, but if you further his position by parroting his comments, you can talk until the cows come home.”

“It is just too bad Obama didn't have a cleaner crystal ball during his election campaign. Maybe he would have changed his promises if he really knew just how bad things were going to be when he took the oath of office in January 2009. None of us knew just how bad it was going to be and we still don't. Blame whomever you want, that is not going to change where we are in this place and time. What will change things will be when the Republicans put up their white surrender flag and start working with Obama and not against him. They only hurt the American people with their unforgiving behavior. The worst that can happen to President Obama is that he doesn't get re-elected. The American people are suffering and will suffer more if the Republicans don't remember why they got elected to office. It was not to bring down Obama; it was to be servants for the American people. When are they going to start being the servants they were elected to be. I'm tired of waiting for them to stop their nonesense and start working for me and you.”
FatFeline on Jul 19, 2010 at 18:03:56
“He did not need a crystal ball when he told this lie. He just needed a little bit of integrity.
“A lot of truth in what you said. Too bad others can't see what you see. I don't agree with you 100% but your example of Corporate Empire and Corporate Elite is a start. Where do we go from there? If we could all learn to think for ourselves instead of believing what others have to say we may slowly start making a difference in who runs our country. Politician's party preference should stop when they are elected. They are now in office for the people - all the people - all of the time. Too bad it doesn't work that way and probably never will.”
James Everett on Jul 12, 2010 at 20:43:11
“The Corporately controlled Federal Empire is an impostor, or Chameleon posing as the Founders system of government, IT IS NOT !
All would do well to hear these words from....... Niccola Machiavelli.
"...[A]llow them [the conquered] to live under their own laws, taking tribute of them, and creating within the country a government composed of a few who will keep it friendly to you.... A city used to liberty can be more easily held by means of its citizens than in any other way....
"...[T]hey must at least retain the semblance of the old forms; so that it may seem to the people that there has been no change in the institutions, even though in fact they are entirely different from the old ones. For the great majority of mankind are satisfied with appearances, as though they were realities, and are often even more influenced by the things that seem than by those that are.... [The conqueror should] not wish that the people... should have occasion to regret the loss of any of their old customs...."”
James Everett on Jul 12, 2010 at 20:39:00
“The truth is that this is not a " Country" It is a Confederacy, The Articles Of Confederation was the first constitution of the United States of America and legally established the union of the states. Article #1 States....The Stile of this Confederacy shall be "The United States of America.".
Note here, "Confederacy", not Nation. The Federal constitution was built using the Articles of Confederation as its foundation, the Preamble to the Federal constitution states.... "In order to form a more PERFECT union ".
Notice " MORE PERFECT UNION". NOT NEW UNION, or NATION. The States were united in a Confederacy of sovereign nations. Not dissolved into A Nation. Unfortunately when the Federal government made war on the States and defeated them in 1865, that Confederacy was replaced with a Federal Empire, I understand the necessity to end slavery, however within that campaign a coup d'état occurred, which destroyed the States, and the union, reducing the States to provinces under the dominion of a Federal Empire.”
“Could you please elaborate a little more. I don't get what the Mexicans have to do with how educated people are in California. Wouldn't it be easier to say you don't like Mexicans? They are too busy growing your food!!!!”
“Would you consider running for President? Your "let's do it big" is exactly what my husband and I talk about all of the time and I'm sure lots of others as well. Unfortunately, Washington et al is not interested in fixing anything - starting with the American middle-class people who pay the most taxes. Now being retired and living in Mexico because we could not afford to live in the US, and realizing that as self-employed business people in a mom and pop type business, we paid through the nose. Our CPA once told us not to worry about ever being audited as the government loves the taxes you pay. So, let's spread this out to all people who earn a paycheck no matter how much they make exactly as you have outlined. Number 4 would boost social security so no one would ever have to worry about it failing and they could throw in the Medicare Part B premium as a bonus.
Would be nice but it will never happen - greedy people rule the world. He with the most gold rules!!!!”

“TY. The ideas I've proposed have been suggested by others as well- both here and elsewhere. The secret to success is not bi-partisanship; it's no partisanship.”
“Why would they think about anything that would benefit the American people. They are too focused on making sure President Obama and the Democrats fall flat on their faces.
I deplore what the US has become. We set no positive examples for our children. When we become the new third world country it will be too late to say "I told you so!"
So where do we go from today to stop this nonsense - the voting booth would be a good first step.”
AJH on Jun 25, 2010 at 16:27:14
“I believe what we buy and where we shop will have a more profound effect than the voting booth. If you want to see americans employed buy american, shop at retailers that stock american products and you will change behavior.
We aren't going to see policies that benefit americans so we are going to do it, or we aren't.”
“I hope many people read your post and then do as you have asked. It is definitely time to start letting our government - both Republicans and Democrats - know that enough is enough. It is hard for me to believe that the Republicans would stoop so low as to jeopardize the entire working force just to make sure they take over in November. I surely hope people start taking the information contained in the report and start looking at who is really at fault with nothing being accomplished in Washington.
Question to ponder: How different would things be if McCain had been elected instead of Obama???? Anyone's guess.”

“Dear Bloggers - keep up the good work. So refreshing to read intelligent thoughts and not have to listen to the cry babies and the knocking of the Obamas, race, who is to blame for everything attitudes. Talking about what is really the problem, offering good suggestions and being respectful of each other's views is what I think a real blogger does. You made my day!!! Thx”
“It has nothing to do with their color. Or not much else. It has to do with the fact there is no oli, gold, silver, diamonds, coal, natural gas, or anything that the big American corporations can move in and harvest to make big profits while paying the lowest wages possible. And then on their way out, they make sure the country is near bankruptcy.
Read John Perkins books on the economic hit man. It will open your eyes to why the US is like it is today. Ulta rich and very poor and shrinking middle class.
Big corporations who go to other countries and rape them blind are the real enemies.
The only reason so many Mexicans left their country was because back in the 50s the US opened their doors wide and invited them in to work for not much--they even provided transportation. I worked at a small bank in a small town in the Salinas Valley and I saw these Mexican men stand in line every Friday to send money home to their families ($5, $10 sometimes $25). Their living conditions were deplorable and they never complained and their working conditions were cruel to say the least. Big agriculture corporations couldn't get enough of these workers. So off the backs of the Mexicans the US prospered and the wealth began. So let's put blame where blame belongs.
I wish every Mexican could return to Mexico. They definitely deserve better than what the US has to offer.”

“John Perkins book "I Was An Economic Hit Man" is an excellent book! Should be a "must read" about how our country has raped poorer nations for our own financial benefit, leaving those countries in worse condition except for the elites of that nation.
But at the same time, even though we are at fault for the collapse of many south American countries and indonesian countries, we are not obligated to support everyone who has fallen prey to Halliburton, KBR, and such that got the contracts to rape them.
Our Goverment should be held accountable for that. It's the middle class citizens of our country that are carrying the burden of costs to pay for illegal immigration.”
“I thought sweat shops were in other countries - not in the US. So you think bringing in a foreign business and pay sweat shop wages is good for the US workers. And where do the big profits get spent - probably some other foreign country and not the US.
There is everything wrong with a senator who is willing to invite in a fat cow to lower the standards of the American working people. Lots of people work non-union jobs and support their families. Lower wages has nothing to do with unions, etc.
Where have you been for the past 10+ years. The middle class tax payer's salaries have decreased and their medical benefit premiums have risen every year since. So now you want them to work for nothing with no benefits!!! You sure do not sound like the hippies I knew in the 60's or is that a typo????”
“The Tea Baggers signs have to go. What an insult to the American people and to the President of the United States of America. Those signs make us seem so unAmerican and they are seen all over the world by people who think we have everything going for us. Our TV media love to show and reshow those signs and the people holding them. Have you ever stopped to ask why.
This reminds me of the crazy wanna be's that waste everyone's time auditioning for American Idol. The things people do for their 15 minutes of fame is absolutely mind boggling.
But when it entails making a mockery of the President of the United States, then that is going too far.”
rgilley on Feb 5, 2010 at 18:56:28
“These teabaggers are the same right wing wackos that put bush and cheney in office twice! Mostly southern, mostly white and totally uninformed about the state of affairs in the country. And nearly 100% republican!
Stop the republican scurge of obstructionism in 2010!!”
“I think Chris Matthews hit the nail on the head. So many people focus on President Obama's color and forget to listen to what he is saying. If people would turn off every thing in their head and just listen, they might see and hear that this man is doing the best he can under the most horrific circumstances.
At age 70 I have never in all my years ever witnessed such scrunity to one human being - yes, just that - a human being. When is he going to get the respect and backing to move the American people out of the dump back into the American society we once so loved. Do you really think President Obama put us there. No he did not and no one is trying to really help him get us out. It takes the whole village!!! Not a bunch of pundits foaming at the mouth telling us how to think and when to think. Shame on all of us for being so weak and so gullible. Shame on us for not respecting our country and what we stand for.”

“Thank you so much "mitsie" for your honest words. You see what I see and it is very painful. Right???
Everyone in America should walk in President Obama's shoes and at the end of the day write a review of how they did!! I can't wait to read them.
Give the guy a break and try a little support for once. Why is it so necessary to use the largest magnifying glass to observe this president???? Beats me. Oh so depressing to be an American today!!! I feel like crying myself to sleep every night.
Where was the media when President Bush was in office? Where was their magnifying glass?????”

“Indeed! Where WAS the cowardly press? Oh wait I forgot--the foot pounding idealistic writers are still there, it's just that the corporate bosses know what side their bread is buttered on, so dissent wasn't allowed under Bush/Cheney. Eisenhower warned of this military/industrial complex, but it was already under way & unstoppable. He wasn't taken seriously enough in the post-war boom. I don't think Obama realized the extent of the problems he was inheriting. His ideals have run up against the cruel & harsh realities of modern politics. The machine has been way out of control for a long time, and short of a Roosevelt type shakeup, which I don't think is in his character, things look pretty bleak for this administration. Too much has gone on for too long. On the bright side though, it ISN'T Bush/Cheney. Almost anybody would have been an improvement over those criminals.”
“Maybe this is God's way of telling us that life for us is over and it is time to start a new one. I think He will leave the new one up to us since His creation has been totally destroyed by the greedy and greedier people in this world. This has nothing to do with party, race, religion. We are all guilty for allowing things to turn out as they have. Shame on us for being such cowards and not standing up to our politicians a long time ago.
What you wrote makes perfect sense and probably has a lot of truth in it. But, have you noticed out there just how badly fear has taken over people who once were mostly secure beings. Such doom and gloom!!!!”
