“nope, the social psychology investigations in the 60's and 70's addressed that exact issue. we are genetically disposed to hate/fear/doubt anything different (our genes drive the bus) and if we can't find differences we invent them... the whole post racial thing is an artifice to sustain the status quo.....all done, we're perfect, no need to get better. that is the essence of the change in voting rights at the supreme court and look where that is going....”

“I am happy I do not live in your head. Good luck. I hope you find a way to see through your cultural habits and out of despair.”

“i disagree. we all easily find ways to differentiate. the tribal familial chords that lead to prejudice are built into our blueprints. to deny them that enables them. it needs to be conscious to resist those tendencies.”

“I guess that is what I meant by "see through cultural habits." I think we agree more than not. I don't think Germans are genetically disposed to hate Jews, do you?”
“very simply, the nice people should be outed as homophobes---a site called 'homophobes who suck' should give the name of those nice people--then the 'message' about the 'messagers' would be disseminated.
“these statements always avoid the real question, 'why do people (men AND women) think that thin is more attractive.
the answer is, all else equal (no famine, etc.), thin is apparently younger and NOT OBVIOUSLY pregnant. this gives a better chance for the new set of shiny genetic material that jumps on that bandwagon to have reproductive success. the rest is just 'fashion' and only relevant for time it takes for the fashion world to think up something else that is shiny...”
“the messaging is FUBAR, the message is if your insurance stays as is, you can keep it. the trouble is insurance is, was, and WOULD BE a moving target without government intervention.
the problem is that the roll out of 'obamacare, aca, sanity in insurance, whatever' was soooo inept it's unusable. people are uncomfortable with the unknown and need reassurances that this thing will work. so far all they've gotten is 'it'll get better' and that is not very reassuring...
this is 'windows vista' on steroids and they need to get out the jolt cola, the pizza, the macintosh/apple team and fix it. yesterday would be better than next week....”
