“I completely agree. Not only do they look stupid and petty for saying this (after they "spent months courting the governor's nod"), but it's clearly not true and he will just be the first of other superdelegates to (finally!) come forward for Obama.”
“And...which laws were broken? Oh, that's right, none.

“Read the article. They are questioning the ability of the governor to waive the 90 day waiting period.
Lawmakers this week passed legislation giving Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick the power to appoint an interim replacement, but laws approved in Massachusetts usually take 90 days to go into effect. Patrick signed an emergency letter that he says allows the law to become effective immediately.
Republicans allege in their court filing that Patrick did not have the constitutional authority to do that.
Of course since this is Mass there is little chance of the judge doign anythign that may be preceived as hindering the liberals in the Mass gov. I only wish that Judge Maria Lopez was presiding. She is one entertaining crackpot.”
“This is a joke, right? In a post full of lecturing to liberals about how all we do is call people names, you proceed to call us all "monkeys." ...And you wonder why we don't want to waste our breath trying to have an intelligent conversation with you.”
“Please look for the letter and send it not only to him, but to your local paper, bloggers, msnbc (send it to Ed Schultz), ny times, etc - blast it out there and get him on the public record as being a hypocrite. Not that it will stop them but at least hopefully the bloggers and the msm will pick it up.”
“Why are these aides so confused? Look at who they're dealing with - Palin, Limbaugh...when have they ever told the truth? The aides should be assuming the repugs are gonna make stuff up and should have been prepared with some comebacks instead of waiting so long to counter. It's like they have forgotten who and what they're dealing with...lies and the lying liars who tell them.
My only hope is that O has some tricks up his sleeve like in the primaries/general when he would always come up with something when I thought he was down. Can't wait for the townhall today! Give 'em heck, O!”
“There is absolutely no way she wrote that herself. Too coherent. Also.”

“There are three sentences in this statement . . . one with 43 words, one with 47 and one with 14. I'd love to see a high school English teacher assign these sentences to her students for diagraming. They'd all have to be committed.”

“I agree. Too many big words in there for Sarah to have written it - little less for any of her "supporters" to have understood it.”
“Completely serious question - is he just going to go to some country club jail or is going to real prison? Can't a case be made that several people have committed suicide because of his actions and he is liable for that - some kind of homicide charge?
Can those families sue in civil court?
I really want him locked up in a real prison with people who will hurt him.”

“He'll be in a minimum or medium security prison.
He won't be bumping head with killers, but before he makes it to his final location, he'll likely be in the Manhattan or Brooklyn jail (he may be there now), NOT a nice place to be! Both smell like death, but you can watch the rats run around for entertainment.
Just because he may end up in a minimum or medium security facility doesn't mean he won't live in fear; people in prison have relatives that have lost their homes, jobs, etc, and they will associate Madoff with that type of fraud. Also, inmates may think Madoff has access to money and will squeeze him for it. It won't be fun, and he'll die in there- he's never getting out..”

“If it's over 25 years it's maximum security, I believe.”
“Thank you for sharing these. I'm glad the policy about photographing the flag draped caskets and funerals will change somewhat under Obama. War is not only victory parades and mission accomplished banners and IMO citizens should see all the sides, including - especially - the ugly side so we can all think twice about when to send soldiers into war and what the true stakes really are.
I also cannot recommend highly enough the film Taking Chance. I watched it this past weekend and was incredibly moved.”
