“Since the word "marriage" and all of it's associated terms is part of our legal structure, marriage is whatever the law says it is, and in Hawaii marriage can also be between a man and a man, or a woman and a woman.”
“The GOP House members have the job of governing our nation. They are not doing their job. Since they are not working, they are essentially unemployed. I see no reason to extend their benefits, including their paychecks. Enough is enough.”

“There are over 30 BIPARTISAN jobs bills already passed by the House. Sitting on Harry Reid's desk!”
“'the new policy, which lays out a set of education benchmarks designed to emphasize critical thinking and deeper learning,'
" emphasize critical thinking "? They're right, it is anti-gun.”
“There wasn't really a lot of discussion among the public at all when Romneycare was started. People just accepted the fact that they needed insurance, but since most people already had it, that didn't concern them. Those that didn't have it were not the type that get a lot of exposure to the media, and most of them were in an income bracket where their insurance was subsidized. Overall, it's been a non-issue or a boon to us in Mass.”

“Exactly. The rest of my family all live in Massachusetts. They are all saying the same thing. They told me it was a rough start, but worth it .”
“Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) said Sunday that he "probably wouldn't be here" if he had been insured under the Affordable Care Act
He may be right, if he's talking about "being here" in Congress. Let's fast forward a few Years:
Inhofe is insured under the Affordable Care Act, as is all of Congress and a whole lot of his constituents.
Inhofe has told lie after lie about the ACA, and his constituent have had time to realize that fact.
His constituents decide not to re-elect someone who has fought so hard to prevent a law that has helped them.
Inhofe is no longer there.”
“Vitter (R-La.) responded in a statement to The Huffington Post: "Unfortunately, the deck I'm playing with in the Harry Reid Senate is quite full -– of jokers."
Wow, Vitter, you're quite the quick wit. With a zinger like that, you should consider a career as a stand-up comedian. You're obviously better suited for that than for a career in politics. You could even come out wearing a diaper. That would have them rolling in the aisles before you even uttered a word.”

“How do you know it was quick? It might have taken him days to come up with that. For that matter, how do you know it was Vitter? It might have been his spokesman that came up with that line. :)”
“Is this the guy who guaranteed that Sarah Palin would be ready to step into the role of President of the United States if necessary? He has no understanding of the thought processes of the Tea Party House members, not that I can blame him for that.”
“Among the 254 counties where food stamp recipients doubled between 2007 and 2011, Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of them in last year’s presidential election, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. Kentucky’s Owsley County, which backed Romney with 81 percent of its vote, has the largest proportion of food stamp recipients among those that he carried.
I guess that "someone who wants to be a dictator" you mentioned was Romney.”
“There is a difference between debt and deficit. The deficit is now about half of Bush's last deficit, if you include the costs of his wars, which he conveniently left off the books. And the things which you think caused the deficit were instigated by lack of government regulation of financial companies under the Bush administration, and Bush's buddy, Greenspan, leaving interests near 0% despite a booming economy.”

“The deficit each year under Obama has been a trillion dollars. Now they are coming down do to the sequester, which neither party seems to like. Now I hate to try and defend the Bush administration but congress ruled by the Democrats oversaw Fannie and Freddie and as late as 07 Barney Frank continually said they were solvent and representing what America stood for. And as far as Greenspan he and his brother Bernanke who has continued the 0 % policies has cripled Americe”
“Most people above the minimum-wage level have had a raise in the last few years. If your company hasn't given you one, maybe you should get a different job. According to those complaining about people collecting unemployment or other government benefits, there's lots of jobs out there.”
“The government was just shrunk by about 30%, and apparently many people noticed the difference. As far as trainability goes, government workers, on average, have more education than the general public.”
“No, my reasoning is that Obama is not even in the same ballpark with Bush. Despite the fact that safety net programs are still eating up a large portion of government money because of Bush's recession, the deficit has fallen for the last four years.”
waldob on Oct 17, 2013 at 20:34:04
“the deficit is at 17 trillion what are you talking about? And please tell me how Bush caused the recession? Wasn't that the fault of the Wall Street bankers and the government controlled Fannie and Freddie who was overseen by congress run by the Democrats. And people buying homes they couldn't afford and a coplicent government forcing banks to loan money to people who couldn't afford them. I tire of telling people history if they don't want to be objective and realize what there government is doing ”
