“Exactly what I've been saying! Being fair towards the man gets you no love in TO!
I love his dedication to cleaning the office up but disagreed with the severity (cutting vital services). That doesnt mean I'll sling mud at him and it doesnt mean I'll excuse his behaviour. People really need to get over their bias and work constructively together across party lines!!”
“I believe in personal responsibility and hard work, and I also believe in helping those who cannot help themselves. I have no intention of / need for living off anyone's labor, but I don't mind contributing to a system so that's it's there for everyone in times of need.
You see your party becoming irrelevant, but rather than understand why (good place to start would be to understand your opponent) you rather blame the turning tide [of popular opinion] as being caused by some defect in the voters that absolves your party of any responsibility - those voters are just bums!
You can only blame progress - people are shunning selfishness, ignorance and fear because they know better. Even you might be guilty of it someday.”

We are $17 trillion in debt. $90 trillion if one did proper accounting.
The employment percentage is the worst since 1978.
One out of five children lives in poverty.
One of six Americans is on food stamps.
Our GDP is anemic.
Not sure what you "progressives" have brought to the table except misery.
If you want to help those who can't help themselves then feel free. I too help those in need. But why wreck our economy by taking money that isn't your own to give to causes YOU care about....but not necessarily the person you are taking money from? There is nothing noble in taking from others to fund your charities.
People are not shunning progress. They are embracing dependency....brought to them by people like you who have no problem spending other people's money.”
“so would you say it's better for the one man to give up the progress he fought tooth and nail for bc the other is determined to sabotage the whole country to prevent any progress from taking place? That is not playing by the rules, it's like dealing with terrorists.”
“A one-payer healthcare system is NOT all it's made out to be. In Canada you get sub-par medications and will not get treatment for some diseases without insurance, which many people, such as myself (self-employed), don't have. Besides that it's exactly like Obama said, costs are EXTREMELY high because there is zero competition. I actually think u guys are onto something, really curious to see how it plays out.”
“I am confused. Just because you make a nice salary does not mean there is no incentive to produce (?) have you ever had a well-paying job? I am totally against waste if waste exists, but standing up to incompetency and using the pretext to further your own extremist agenda are too different things. That guy is not a champion of you or me, in fact he admitted that healthcare must be stopped before the people realize they like it.”
“And that is very sad. I'm all for high wages for gov employees bc it forces the private sector to compete, and in some industries they still do, but gov employees should be held to the strictest standards.”
“For the people, by the people. It's right there. Government is supposed to provide critical services to its citizens, that is and always has been its function. the GOP is trying to convince you the constitution says otherwise because they are comprised of the rich, and act on behalf of corporations that are just aching to run the country. Both the rich and corporations do not want government involvement. Turn on Fox News and really pay attention to what they're saying. They're trying to instill fear in you - of the gov, of your fellow citizens, of the world.. divide and conquer. Remember it is the poor and the middleclass that drive progress - they make demands on the government that force it to adapt to its needs and better itself. also, look into socialist countries (even though their system is VERY far removed from anything that will pass in the US) - they are doing much than the US (better living conditions, better services, better quality of life & employment).
You are right about one thing: many Americans ARE so far gone they don't see what's happening: social services are being cut at alarming rates and many of the rights our grandparents fought for in the 50s, 60s & 70s are disappearing. The rich and corporate are brainwashing us into accepting slavery.”

“E paw I understand that you have your opinion and I have mine . Our country has a checks and balance system so that one branch does not over power the country and rule as a dictator .I feel that is were Obama is headed . I do not want the Government taking something I have worked so hard to get (money and give it to others who want to sit home and do nothing . I feel if you work hard and make the money you should be able to pass it on to your family not to low lifes .
To others of you yes I have read the constitution and I know that it does not cover big Government that you all are obviously for .I have my on mind I do not need the Government to tell me what to buy and how to run my life .I am not rep. or dem. But I know I am sure not a socialist and that is who Obama is . and to BOBINMO it is my opinion and I know you would not call me that to my face because you would end up in a hospital . we are not the Government we should be able to talk and give our Thoughts on what is going on .That is what makes the world go around.and has made our Government so strong in the past . @ ladiesnite I am right there with you”
