“Chocolate doesn't contain caffeine, but rather a similar molecule called theobromine. Good article though.. I definitely agree that food affects both beauty and mental wellbeing!”

New Research Finds Diabetes Can Be Reversed

Commented Aug 7, 2011 at 15:29:56 in Healthy Living

“This is a well written article. I am a dietetics student, and I agree with you that it can be reversed. People don't make money off cures, though, and that's obviously why drugs are the primary method of treatment instead of lifestyle changes. And lifestyle changes benefit everyone, not just people with a known illness so it's too bad that that isn't pushed more in doctor offices or elsewhere.”

14 Foods To Buy Organic

14 Foods To Buy Organic

Commented May 25, 2011 at 14:01:00 in Healthy Living

“I'm a college student and I spent $50 a week and I buy most of the food organic. I'm not rich, but I have made it a priority because health is important to me. I know a lot of people who are basically broke but are willing to spend just a little more on organic. Also, it's not that much more expensive. At my Kroger, kiwis are even less expensive than the conventional ones, as is the spinach. So no excuses, anyone can do it and everyone should because health is important. You may want to save money now on food, but imagine down the line getting a preventable disease and having to dish out thousands for that”

San Francisco Circumcision Ban To Appear On Ballot

“Half-circumcision is where it's at. Never heard of it until I met my boyfriend, but it's the best of both worlds. More people should know about it!”

“It's called a loose cut and it, like all genital cutting can lead to complications. You are still pinning a baby down, ripping the foreskin away from the glans, putting a metal clamp on one of the most sensitive parts of a baby's body and slicing off nerve-rich tissue. There is plenty of reasearch on how traumatic that is for a newborn and circumcision has been proven to not be an effective means of all it purports to be. It is a procedure that continues because doctors make easy money doing it. I know of some OB's whom 25% of their income comes from genital cutting. You think those doctors are telling parents the truth about all of the complications? Their is one doctor who alone has fixed over 2600 botched circumcisions in the last 3 years.”

“It's still best if the decision to have a "half-circ", also known as a loose circ, is up to the man, not his parents.”
