“Watch it HP! You can be called a racist by calling him black instead of "African American". Yet its still ok to call white people "white". The double standard we have.”

“To even call you white is inaccurate. Beige is more your color. Perform a test - place your skin next to a sheet of white typing paper and note the difference! More than likely, this test bares out what I'm saying. There's no racism meant in this post. Just an observation similar to the one you made.”

“Dude you call yourself White, and here's why. You white people come from a continent with 44 countries on it. When you first got here you pooled into pockets based on ethnic heritage from Europe. After one generation passed everybody for the most part has chucked their native tongue and speaking ENGLISH. You banned together to be white, WHY because the Blacks got freed in 1865. And you figured out real quick that as ONE Group. They out numbered EVERY SINGLE LAST group standing separately.
So don't cry about this double standard. YOU CREATED IT by surrendering your National Heritage of Origin to EMBRACE American. After embracing American you then proceeded to spend the period 1865 to oh say 1965, defining American as WHITE diminishing the rights of Blacks who MOST of which been here WAY LONGER THAN YOU. Again don't cry double standard now.
In fact here in 2013, there are still problems with the ONE AMERICA concept because 180 years caused a lot to happen which have created gaps between Americans. And while the laws and attitudes have changed. You seem to expect 1 generation of life under the changes to be sufficent to erase 6 generations of atrocity under the old way. By the way HE ACTUALLY is an African America, his father is African his mother is American. Its the vast majority of the rest of us who shouldn't use that BULLSHYT monicker.”

“enre, I see your point but what is wrong with being called "White"? I have no problem with it and the only people that seem to constantly be thinking up new names to call themselves are black people. I think by calling whatever name they have bestowed upon themselves and calling it racist is just silly. When I was younger they were negroes and then blacks. I still call them blacks and refuse to use the word African American. It is just stupid and not all blacks are of African descent. Why we keep changing the current vernacular to please these folks is beyond comprehension and just does not make sense. AS long as no one calls them the N-word that they call each other, then what difference does it make really?”
