“What is wrong with these people? Are they really as utterly stupid as they make themselves out to be? Gads.”

“No. They're reactionary, but they're not stupid. A "smart" gun is code for a useless gun. People who understand firearm self-defense know that if you're ever in a situation where you need to use a firearm for self-defense, you only have seconds to react. That's not hyperbole. Literally seconds.
When seconds count, how well do you think you're going to do when you have to punch a security pin code into a wrist watch?”

“I do agree, as long as you are casting a net that only covers those who are actually making death threats (if real). I'm a gun owner, and see no reason to get nasty with the shop owner. I still don't agree with the owner, or his motives (try and get attention and publicity?) as it would end up screwing a large group of people in NJ and soon to be CA. I wish the free market would be allowed to let people choose if a "smart" gun is right for them. Or better yet, have those same states mandate that their own civilian police force and politician body guards be armed with them first, as an example for others to follow. But that's not what the current laws are in some states.”

“But can you recognize that the vast majority of gun owners and gun rights supporters aren't like that?”
“Ding! Wrong: the real job creators are consumers, regardless of whether there is a nearby Walmart or not. The more people spend, the merrier the economy. BTW, I've got mine...but I'm not having any of this, "screw you" nonsense coming from the right wing nuttery.”

“Ross, ding! You're wrong. How are the consumers going to have money to spend into the economy if corporations like Walmart, etc. doesn't create jobs where they can make this money to spend. This mindset that everybody should make a large salary no matter if a chimp can be trained to do your job is nonsense.Get off your butt,go to school, get an education and earn a large salary and stop expecting others to help support you. We've done it in the past and it was successful and we'll do it in the future. It seems like Obama has put this idea in people's minds that they are owed the same as others even though they didn't work for it,didn't deserve it or get an education and earned it.Does this sound familiar?”
“So? You do understand who the real job creators are, don't you? I'll let you think that over for a while.
In the meantime, you've got yours, right? Go ahead...admit it...”

“Ross,I started at a min. wage job right out of HS and worked at it until I could find a better job which is how it was designed to work. Our economy has always rewarded people who's job required more skill and more training with higher wages but now you advocate a large increase for jobs that require little training or skills.our economy will not support this.Thousands of small companies will be forced out of business and others will just reduce their employees to cover the extra cost.Your large corporations like Walmart are your job creators, they create thousands and thousands of good paying jobs as well as their own employees. There are the warehouse workers, the truck drivers, the middle men,the product producers, even the printing companies that print the labels for the products are a result of companies like Walmart. You sound like one of those disgruntled fast food employees.I do work,I am Middle Class and I earn every penny I get.Do you?????”
