“Then why would you want to accelerate that transition of global economic power?

Wouldn't you want to maintain our fragile position... and nudge them into some form of representative democracy before they turn into 30's G3rmany?

Progressivism = corporatism... it's been that way since the early years. The only solution is freemarket capitalism and limited government... separation of market and state.

That little technique turned an outpost colony into a world superpower in only 150 years.”

Not so well for melting p0ts of 300 million. Especially if Democrats are running the system.”

“Pelosi is your only hope? Wow, it must be bad.

If Medicare/caid have 37 trillion in unfunded liabilities... and an expansion of that program would balloon that figure... quickening our economic decline...

Do you really want to be at the economic mercy of the Beijingers?”

goodog replied on Dec 17, 2009 at 05:34:38

“"Do you really want to be at the economic mercy of the Beijingers?"

It's our fate, not a choice. The corpratists have decided on our future, and it IS China.

We'll be lucky if they let us make their tenni shoes.”

“No, she's not new.

I think we're in uncharted territory... Any responsible fiscal policy that keeps the American economy going as long as possible before the fasc|sticky Ch|nese become a larger economy than ours.

Of course it would involve a slow reduction in the scope of government, and the dismantling of our failing public education system. Everything else is up for grabs.”

“What's in a name?

It's all some flavor of collectivism or statism. Silly 20th century ideas of how to organize society... and they're all big fails. Funny, that people still keep trying them in this era, 'hoping' for a different result.”

marika replied on Dec 17, 2009 at 05:32:47

“The latest failure is right here under our noses. The only economic activity is that pursued by the banks - pushing money around, pocketing high interest on taxpayer money to distribute bonuses to overpaid psycopathic
Ceos and their cronies. On the other side of the slate - unemployment, forclosure, military occupations that are consuming the treasury, hunger and death from lack of real healthcare and a double decker justice system,..one for us and one for them.
A real success story.”

“Technically, it's the corporatist/national socialism agenda. And the public will voice it's displeasure with it.

But US Democrats don't deserve such 'noble' titles... They're a far cry from the original corporatist gan'gstas. They're more like the 'spend as much taxpayer dollars as vote-harvesting scheme-ists'

The more people are dependent on government, the better their chances are in 2010 and 2012.”

“"What they are actually talking about is something called the "individual mandate." That's a section of the law that requires every single American buy health insurance or break the law and face penalties and fines. So, the bill doesn't actually "cover" 30 million more Americans--instead it makes them criminals if they don't buy insurance from the same companies that got us into this mess."

It's not good when a government uses force to coerce a citizen to purchase something... we don't do this in a free society.”

Lori Bowles replied on Dec 17, 2009 at 03:52:57

“And who is responsible for writing that into the bill? Grassly and Baucus, as soon as those two got ahold of it there was no stopping how much they were going to sc/re/w the American people. Lets not pretend the Republicans ever wanted this to go through and we know that key dems were out for special interests all along.
The real people who shine are the people who fig/ht for whats right for everyone, not for whats right for themselves.”
