“Yeah, if you've had your entire life to read what is regarded as one of the greatest American novels ever written, and you don't, you have no right to whine about the film being ruined for you. Also, how did his high school English teachers fail him so badly?!?!!”

“I agree with you totally. However, there is the other extreme. The media (not facebook posting or Twitter) were revealing the plot twist of a show that was not even 24 hours old that simply could not be bothered with noting that there was a plot spoiler in their article. Or, in the case of a certain website we like to post on, putting the twist right in the headline!
And please, don't give me that it is already in the book. Martin is no FItzgerald and trying to read through those books is like watching paint dry”
“I think when it comes to general social media sites, your point about respect and courtesy is valid. If you're going to check out an article, comments on an article, a message board or any specific thing like that, then it's your own fault.”

“Even on social media, it's still on you. I'm sorry, but you're a fool if you think people aren't going to talk about something they enjoy after the fact. That is the point of social media! Why should everyone else censor themselves? It's an incredibly entitled attitude for people to think everyone else should watch and discuss a TV show on their schedule. I live on the west coast. Guess what I'm not doing on nights where a show I watch is on TV? Hint: it involves going on the internet...”

“You had your chance with the stillborn Texas Super Collider. That 60 mile tunnel with 30 Tev driving particle collisions would have resolved the Higgs and possibly super symmetry over a decade ago.
You can blame your politicians who baled on the project after their states did not get the bid. You can also blame the people entrusted with building and running the facility for fiscal and timeline oversight incompetence.
Finally, you came blame a scientifically illiterate public who continue to see little utility and tangible benefit from this type of scientific pursuit.”
