“No, you do not get it. There are numerous High Tech jobs, so many that there is an annual increase of Green Cards issued to Foreign National due to the lack of qualified US national to fill those position.

Education is the key not American Idol or the Voice. The rest of the world is kicking out collective butts when it come to Math and Science. The US has some very smart young adults, just not enough of them, and please do not tell me that
the teachers are to blame. In some cases it might hold water, but until parents become involved in their children's educational process nothing will change.”

“Just something to think about. Those scores do mean something. Many professional colleges in the US use them ei Pharmacy,Nursing ect. a very good percentage of any given class is Asian and there is a reason for that.

Secondly there are High Tech jobs out there, so much so that there has been a health increase annually in the number of Green Cards issued over the past 25 years.
Something the US is the best at are Pilots, hands down.”

“Great post. I have spent a fair amount of time in Southeast Asia since 2007,
their kids are hungry for success. Once a guide in Vietnam for me in 07, Ngco is now a very good friend who lives just to the north of Hanoi across the Red River. We have had long discussions about education and what it bring to the table of life.
He comes from a very rural village and now has four year degree from the U. of Hanoi. So rural that I was the very first Caucasian or European(left over from the French) there. I was stunned.

With that said, we have some very smart kids in this nation, however for the majority of them believe their future lies on American Idol, the Voice or the any other like programs or in professional sports.

Our nation is in trouble, there seems to be a lack in critical thinking skills. Some states do not even want to have those programs integrated into their Biblical based education system, secondly there is more attention given to athletics.”

The Enemy Maker
How To Make a Enemy
by Sam Keen

Start with an empty canvas
Sketch in broad outline the forms of
men, women, and children

Dip into the unconscious well of your own
Disowned darkness
With a wide brush and
Stain the strangers with sinister hue
Of the shadows

Trace onto the face of the enemy the greed,
Hatred, carelessness you dare not claim as
Your own

Obscure the sweet individuality of each face.

Erase all hints of the myriad loves, hopes,
Fears that play through the kaleidoscope of
every finite heart.

Twist the smile until it forms the downward
Arc of cruelty.

Strip flesh from the bone until only the
abstract skeleton of death remains.

Exaggerate each feature until man is
Metamorphosized into beast, vermin, insect.

Fill in the background with malignant
Figures from ancient nightmares-devils,
Demons, myrmidons of evil.

When your icon of the enemy is complete
You will be able to kill without gilt,
Slaughter without shame.

The thing you destroy will have become
Merely an enemy of God, an impediment
To the sacred dialectic of history.”

“When Prop 8 came on the ballet in California, the Mormon Church entered the political arena by dumping large sums of money into the campaign against the legalization of Gay marriage. I would ask you to revisit your views. Granted the LDS church is an extreme, however I see little difference between them and what goes on in the Bible belt.”

“First, it is the law. Secondly, it is SECULAR LAW NOT RELIGIOUS LAW.
At this juncture time if the religions of this nation want to continue to play in the political arena they should be TAXED like any other citizen or corporation.”

jumiry on Nov 14, 2013 at 21:34:02

“I don't really see the logical link here. It is true that churches have no authority over civl law, but a church leader enjoys the right to speak out on moral issues; in fact, he must speak up to be true to his calling. The question of taxation is a completely separate issue. I support gay marriage, but I respect that the church is being consistent with its teachings, and threatening its freedom of speech with removal of tax status is simply not valid.”

“And your background is? Actually both Insurance Companies and Hospitals are responsible, however more on the Insurance side. The Hospitals hedge on items
that will not be disallowed by the insurance companies to make up for what is not allowed. The physicians do the same and in the world of retail pharmacy there are multiple parameters. Walgreens being on the upper end of the price scale. It is a game they all play with one another.

Bottom line the insurance companies hold the purse strings, they set the rules.
And in some cases they practice medicine without a license.”
